2008.12.29 Monday

Kelc and I thought about going to Arlington today, but decided the trip would be pretty uneventful and would just spend gas. We're going to go sometime soon.

Instead I got to play Ace Combat for a good chunk of the day.

We also went to Applebee's and Dairy Queen.

2008.12.28 Sunday

Kevin was being a bugger today, and got the wheels in motion for a large sized teeter-totter.

This thing, if it all works out, is going to be a bit on the extreme side.

Hanging out at the lakehouse was pretty fun and relaxing too.

2008.12.27 Saturday

Went to Houston to hang out with my mom's mom. Great food. Puts me to sleep every time.

2008.12.26 Friday

Civil-Lore Cranium Clue.... and Rubik's Revenge.

Also got my oil changed.

2008.12.25 Thursday

Merry X-mas.

My family opened some gifts. I received some rather exciting things.

I'm not going to spoil the surprise.

2008.12.24 Wednesday

Kelc's family had their gift opening this evening. I got way more than I should have from their family.

Thanks.

I was able to give everybody something too, so it isn't completely awkward :-P

Then we watched House Bunny. Very seasonal.

2008.12.23 Tuesday

X-mas almost here. That means shopping gets fun and crazy.

2008.12.22 Monday

Today we woke up mega early to catch the flight home. Completely lucked out on that.

On the plane I sat next to a mom and son that had UT gear on. WORD.

2008.12.21 Sunday

More time in SanFran.

Today was kinda rainy and foggy. The Golden Gate Bridge looked amazing in the weather.

We went around some small towns and more shopping.

Then we went to see "Santaland Diaries" at a weird theatre... "Off Market Street".

Kelc and I had to run through the rain to get the car. A little water never hurt anybody.

2008.12.20 Saturday

Drove around SanFran today. Super windy road. Fisherman's Wharf. Shopping.

2008.12.19 Friday

*yawn*

What a day. Woke up at 6 to catch a flight, barely made it because of holiday-security-fun.

Made it to San Jose airport, drove to our hotel in Southern San Francisco.

We went to an asian restaurant for lunch, but that was a mistake. We didnt understand what anybody was saying... and it was no panda express :-P I'm sure the food was good, but just not something we were used to. We walked across the street to Ed's Diner where I was able to get a grilled-cheese sandwich. Yum.

Next we used some of the transportation to make our way around the town to site-see and shop.
Cable cars are awesome and scary.

We are all exhausted.

2008.12.18 Thursday

Secret project work-day. Took a good handful of hours, but I feel like the results we pretty darn good.

I was going to be packing for a NY trip, but that got canceled.

Last minute change.... now we're going to San Francisco. Woo!

2008.12.17 Wednesday

I wrote some thank-you cards today. Thanks again to everybody who made it to my graduation ceremony and meal.

A NY trip is in the works...

2008.12.16 Tuesday

Not sure, but I think I spent most of the day cleaning my room or just messing around.

2008.12.15 Monday

Kelc went and bought more puzzles. Fun...

2008.12.14 Sunday

Today Kelc and I spent the whole day finishing one of those impossible puzzles.

It was a photo-mosaic puzzle. Think about that for a sec.

2008.12.13 Saturday

I took my last test today; I am done with everything for school. Feels so weird.

I also got some x-mas shopping done. Fun.

My brain feels tired.

Kelc came home from Kevin's meet, and then we went to a white elephant celebration at Taylor and Andrea's - my prize is the best.

2008.12.12 Friday

Ah yes. Today is the day I get to spend studying. I saved it up all week.

It took me forever to get to campus; I parked all the way out near the baseball stadium because PTS felt like charging 10 bucks to park in a closer lot. Heck no I'm not paying the same price as a garage fee.

For lunch, Chris and I went to the union and got some pasta. Pretty good, minus the roll.

I spent most of the evening in the library working on my 'cheat sheet'. Ended up not going to a get-together, :-\ At least I'll be more available once this test is over.

2008.12.11 Thursday

Today, was exceptionally uncoordinated. First, a lunch with Rudy fell through, and then a dinner. Maybe tomorrow will work out.

Speaking of lunch... redemption! Crawfish Etoufee all the way. Yums.

I've been studying for the acoustics final since then for the most part. Going really slow, probably because I have so many distractions (and the shuffle on winamp is picking a ton of bad songs today).

2008.12.10 Wednesday

The day sure does seem a lot shorter when you wake up at 2pm.

I spent most of today cleaning my room and other portions of the house. Of course, my brother was bombarding me, trying to force me to watch The Dark Knight with him. Sure, it might be an awesome movie, and yeah I still haven't seen it. But you know what, I want to wait on watching it some more. Why? Because I can. And because if it's so awesome, I should at least try to enjoy it with Kelc.

Until next time.

2008.12.09 Tuesday

Went in to work today, and actually got a lot done. It kinda felt like I was quitting, but at the same time I felt like I was dedicating the next few years of my life. I ended the part-time relationship, and full time should start up Jan 19th.

I had tortellini for dinner. The whole package. All 1200 calories and 45g of carbs and 20g of protein.

2008.12.08 Monday

Celebration!

Happy half-birthday to me.

Not much happening today. Technically today is the first "dead-day" for studying, but I can hardly will myself to pick up my books, let alone study them.

This week will probably be easy, but fly by.

2008.12.07 Sunday

Woke up late. Guess I really did need that sleep. Off to Starbucks for some caffeine.

I spent most of the day with Kelc's family, helping them with various tasks. X-mas pictures was an interesting challenge.

The Steelers played a pretty sweet game too. Within a very short time frame, they went from 7 points down, to seven points up. Go #1 defense.

2008.12.06 Saturday

Yay, I is GRADUATED!

Ray and Marisa, Trey, and Riyaz all made it to the ceremony. A handful went afterwards to get some MEAT at Rudy's BBQ. Speaking of Rudy's, where is Rudy!? He was supposed to come out, and I also forgot to call him up. Bummer. At least he should be in Austin for a while, so I can get some quality time with the big guy.

I took a ton of pictures throughout the day; thanks everbody for sticking around and dealing with all the holdup.

--

I was supposed to go out, but I ended up falling asleep because I didn't get much sleep. When I think about it, I haven't been sleeping much for about an entire week. School will do that.

2008.12.05 Friday

Last school class day. Woo-hoo. Only had to take two tests that were both slightly misleading and difficult at parts. Oh well, good to be done.

My Aunt came in to town with Robert, and we went out to Reale's for food. Excellent Italian food at a reasonable price. We also split a bottle of wine, so I got semi-tipsy. Reale's is one of the more memorable places for me to go in Austin; I spent a lot of good dinner-times with close friends here, and discussed matters of utmost importance :-) Also, Kelc doesn't like Italian, so I had to take this opportunity to get it.

I ended up staying up late until Kelc made it home. I wonder why I can't sleep.

2008.12.04 Thursday

The good - I didn't go to work today.
The bad - I spent the whole day studying.

I feel pretty accomplished after reviewing a ton of material. I don't think there is any way for me to go over everything, but I put a huge dent in it. Tomorrow afternoon is going to feel so amazing. I will be done with classes as an undergrad, and done with 2/3 of the courses I'm taking.

I'm going to bed early to get a tad more sleep so my brain doesn't wig-out on the tests. And hopefully that extra sleep will let me study on the bus to school and right before each test.

Part of me just wants to start tackling other projects already, but I must contain my desires for just a bit longer.

2008.12.03 Wednesday

Last school-hump day. Yay! Classes were awesome; I feel like my mind was raped with review material for the upcoming finals. Two finals on Friday, both in just 50 minute segments. I'm probably going to be brain dead after the tests, but oh wait... I'm still going to have another class to go to after that. At least then I'll be done with classes.

After some slight blog-blackmailing, it's good to see that RayRay started up his blog. It asks a very good question though; What is the deal with toothpaste? Dentists recommend it like it's comparable to drinking water, just part of life. What did people do before toothpaste? Why is it that animals don't bother with toothpaste when brushing their teeth? This flouride stuff, who determined that would be good to slather all over m
y pearly-yellows?

Oh well, back to some studying. *sigh* at least I can see that finish-line, sorta.

2008.12.02 Tuesday

Probably one of my last few "work days" of 2008. The final month of 2008 is upon us, and time is just sprinting by.

School is winding down, holidays are ramping up, and the economy is in turmoil. Good times.

I went to work, had a mini-meeting, then a pretty cool and boring teleconference. Oh, and I got a clear-cut assignment that I feel like I can actually do without being ambiguous.

When I got home today, I cooked some tortellini (remind me to go buy some more soon) and then got crackin' on studying. My brain is starting to hate me for focusing so much energy for such long periods of time. Oh well.

Ray needs to start blogging pretty soon. Having one follower is nice, but having two would be grand. I originally intended this blog to be a recepticle for my thoughts and ideas, as well as a type of journal of projects that I have going on. Maybe a full-time job will be less stressful than school+part-time, and I'll actually get some projects finished. Oh, and if you are reading this, you should totally start blogging too.

This kitty agrees with me.

2008.12.01 Monday

Yay another Monday. It's pretty sad that this could be my last school-based Monday.

Woke up early to see Kelcey off to her car. Then back to snoozing :-D Woke up rather energetic for school, very strange. I'm not a morning person, even if I happen to get a good amount of sleep the night before.

School was normal; my mind drifted off in a couple classes. Things are starting to wind down; lectures are getting shorter to do the teacher and TA evaluations.

I feel like I did a lot in the evening time, but I don't really recall what it was. Oh well.

2008.11.30 Sunday

Sunday had a rough beginning. Kelc and I finally woke up around noon; the sun was beating on my face. We picked up the house from the b-day party and headed home.

There we ate some leftovers from ThxGvng, made a no-bake cheesecake, and watched the Steeler's game.

Later on, we started a new, hard Disney puzzle. Tigger this time. Hunger struck again, Taco C here we come!

Then I studied for an online quiz while watching Saw II. For a sequel, it was actually rather good.

2008.11.29 Saturday

Kelc and I spent most of the day putting together a 1000-piece Mickey Mouse puzzle. Tedious to say the least.

Later we went to one of Kelc's friend's party, but just for a bit. Kelc was also hosting a b-day party for Matt at her house, so we couldnt stay long. The b-day party was pretty crazy, lots of good fun and staying up late. We actually stayed awake till soemthing like 5:30am.

*yawn*

2008.11.28 Friday

Not too much happened today. Black Friday was a bust for me. Kelc and I went to Walmart and Target. I came back empty handed and Kelc just got a couple things that were probably slightly under normal price anyways.

Kelc and I got to experience a very personal show by none other than Joe. He's putting out an EP soon, and is wrapping up his first semester of college. Very proud of that kiddo.

2008.11.27 Thursday

Happy Thxgiving Everybody.

Woke up very much late. Lunch was being served at my house. Lots of food all around for everybody. Pretty good, the only problem was that my stomach was still full from Fogo. Kelc and I just laid back most of the day, played some XB360.

In the evening, my dad, sis, bro and I left to the UT-A&M game. Well done Texas, we'll see how the BCS turns out later.

2008.11.26 Wednesday

Woke up and had to go to school. Bleh. Kelc is in town relaxing and I have the pleasure of going to school all day. Plus, a lab in the evening...fun.

Later on I went to Fogo de Chao with Justin, Habibi, and Travis for Habibi's B-day. So much meat, not enough room in the stomach. I feel like we did pretty well though.

2008.11.25 Tuesday

I woke up this morning to some dude ringing the doorbell every couple of minutes. First thing he said was "err uhh uhh ummmmm uhh uh do you speak Spanish?" Sorry buddy, I took French in high school. I was told more places in the world speak French anyways. Could be wrong, but I still feel like French is a prettier language than Spanish (and yes, I just said prettier). When I think of Spanish speaking, I think of those raunchy soap-operas on telemundo and the like.

Anyways, the guy was trying to do some grout work in my bathroom. My dad has been remodeling and updating my bathroom so that sorta made sense. I called up my dad, and the guy was supposed to have come yesterday... and my dad already did his work for him... goodbye dude.

I spent the day working mostly on one problem of that take-home exam, and finishing up the code to that lab.

I made a grilled-turkey sandwich. It was just like a grilled cheese sandwich, but had turkey instead of cheese. There should be a name for that; it was pretty good. Whenever I say "grilled-turkey", it sounds like the turkey is what is getting grilled, but it's really just the bread.

I did some tasks around the house, and cleaned up my room some. Kelc tried to sneak up on me, but I caught on to her game. She's home for the holidays, and I get to go to school tomorrow.

2008.11.24 Monday

School. This week should be fun, right?

Classes were alright. I spent my evening working on a take-home exam and a lab that I couldn't finish last week.

I wasn't able to finish that exam, so I'm taking the day off of work tomorrow. That's what I'm really excited about.

2008.11.23 Sunday

Another week has begun. At least Sunday has football on all day. I really will be depressed once football season is over.

Kelc and I spent the night at my house again. Quite unusual. My pops made some chili, that of which we consumed quite happily. Then we headed over to Kelc's. There we watched some TV and football. Eventually, Kelc started reading a book that she has been working on the past week or so. Apparently, the book was banned from libraries at some point. It talks about a boy having wet dreams and his friend stealing all the time. I played some GH2 and made some snowflakes.

I worked on my take-home-exam some too... bleh.

Later on, we took Kip out for a walk and played some baskteball. Then went out to Bennigan's for some delicious foods. Kelc practiced a presentation in front of me that she will be giving tomorrow (good luck babe). We got caught up with The Office and not too long after, we called it a night.

2008.11.22 Saturday

The day was half gone by the time Kelc and I woke up. The remodeling in my bathroom that my dad warned me about being noisy was already complete.

I sat around and watched some football, then played Ace Combat, Geometry Wars, and Hexic. Hexic has a few modes, and one of them was too freaking long. I think it was survival mode, but you should try them out and see what I mean.

Later we went over to Kelc's to work on homework/take-home-exams. I actually made a good chunk of progress on my take home exam, but there is still a good chunk of stuff that I don't understand; essentially I just did the easy stuff. We took a break to pick up some Rudy's BBQ for Kelc's-Mom's Birthday; Happy Birthday Sharon. We then ate the food and watched the OU vs Texas Tech game.

Is there a doctor in the house? Texas Tech needs to go into surgery, because they got TORE UP.

Later, I went looking at some apartments that I was hoping to move into, and then ran into some more buddies I knew. Happy Birthday Habibi. Go get some fresh air.

2008.11.21 Friday

Finishing up the week... multiple assignments due. Funtastic. Acoustics isn't that bad, DSP is that bad. Oh well, partial credit is your friend.

Kelc came into town today. I set up the XB360 in my room on my 1080p TV to check out how everything looks and performs. I feel like my TV doesn't have that 'lag' like most other LCD TVs do, and I have audio being sent over optical to my speaker system, which is awesome.

Kelc and I went out to TacoC after other dinner plans kinda dissolved. Later we headed out to a party and caught up with some friends. Happy birthday Chris. I'd like to go ahead and take some credit for Ray, Kelc, some girl, and I for keeping that fire going for most of the night. The Boy Scout in me wanted to keep that going. Took Chad home, and went to my house to slumber. Once we got home, we noticed how our clothes smelt like campfire... sweet.

2008.11.20 Thursday

Interesting turn of events. Woke up late courtesy of the snooze button. Somehow I was ready to go in 10 mins and shot out the door.

Work was alright. I still was not able to resolve the issues I was having with the software I'm working with. There's still one missing piece to this puzzle, and it shall soon be mine.

I spoke to Chris on the phone, congratulations on making it into the music program. Matt also texted me, congratulations to him on getting accepted to graduate school. To celebrate, I made myself some tortellini and chowed down. (Meal ended up providing roughly 1200 calories, 130g of carbs, 30g of fat, and 32g of protein)

Since then, I've been cracking down on homework. The homework assignments are severely unfair to those who have had no quality 313 background, and some matlab background.

Poop.

2008.11.19 Wednesday

'Twas a long school day. DSP class was alright, Gov quiz was invigorating, and Acoustics was enjoyable. Usually, my day would be over after that, but Wednesday has the privilege of including an evening lab. My partner and I got a huge portion of the code written, but before we were 'allowed' to test any of the code, we had to write hundreds of lines. This pretty much made debugging very difficult, so we used 1.5 hours trying to figure out some anomalies that occurr randomly.

Worked on some acoustics homework and watched It'sAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia with Kelc. Good job on the paper, and don't worry about school so much ma'lady.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

2008.11.18 Tuesday

Worked today, not much happened. I hit two new roadblocks, and I kind of left it like that.

When I arrived at home, I studied and ate food. Before bedtime, Kelc and I watched 308 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

-nighty-

2008.11.17 Monday

Woke up at 5:30a to drive home. Surprisingly, even after not getting much sleep, I wasn't drowsy at all. Wish that happened more often.

School flew by rather quickly. Nothing noteworthy happened, so I shall spare you the boredom.

Got home and got to work on an assignment, and watched a weird MondayNightFootball game.

Yeah, sometimes I am boring like that.

Monday, November 17, 2008

2008.11.16 Sunday

Shipley's? FOR BREAKFAST!??!? Hellz yea. I got a strawberry-iced and a orange-iced and a chocolate milk. Breakfast of champions.

We spent most of the day just watching football and catching up on school work. Snacked on goldfish until...

Went to Chicken Express for late lunch/dinner. Sarah was actually the mastermind behind dinner. I could not pick anything; everything sounded good, and everything sounded not-good at the same time. After the meal, we headed over to Fayrouz to hookah. Fun! I found out that I really enjoy not even thinking about the week that is coming up, or school in general on Sunday evenings. It was most definitely the best way to deal with the end of the weekend.

When we got back home, Kelc and I realized all the school work that we managed to avoid by going out... whoops. Oh well. Let's see how this week unravels.

2008.11.15 Saturday

Woke up mostly late today. Actually, woke up right before halftime of the Texas v. Kansas game. (Good job Horns!) Went out to lunch with Lindsey and Kelc to Nizza Pizza. The waitress there is definitely lol-tastic.

Later we took a trip over to the mall to shop around and get out. I tried on some shirts for Lindsey's dance people. I did not end up buying anything, but I still enjoyed myself. Later we went home; Kelc and I were trying to think of a restaurant to go out for dinner. We ended up picking On The Border, which ironically, Lindsey and Joshy went to maybe an hour before us. I got a Mojito, and was pretty sloshed, but wanted to keep going.

Went back home, made some drinks and watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, then crashed.

2008.11.14 Friday

Fun day for school. Two HW assignments due, both nearly impossible to complete 100% given the lack of information given. Oh well, it will feel good to just turn them in and stop caring. I'm almost done with college... *sigh*

I drove up to Arlington. Joshy, Kelc and I went to Q-doba (Cordoba?) to get some yummy burritos. I like how they have the options of steak and shreded beef, and also queso as a topping. I still 'chickened' out and didn't get the queso, but next time for sure.

We met up with Lindsey and headed to the movie theaters to see Changeling. I like how the trailers and the synopsis on various websites made the movie seem like it was about something else completely. About an hour and half into the movie, it felt like things were about to end, but NO... the movie was about 2.5 hours long. I guess that is one way to justify the $9.50 tickets (ouch).

2008.11.13 Thursday

C to the R to the A to the W to the F to the I to the S to the H

That's right baby, Crawfish Etoufee at Little Deli. One of the best lunches one could get.

Other things that happened today - not going downtown with work buddies because I have homework (still partially incomplete) - working on a program most of the day, and crashing before being able to save correctly.

I guess that's mostly boring stuff. If you are reading this blog through the newly designed website, good job! If you don't know what I'm talking about, head over to www.andysk8inman.com to find out what all the talk is about!

(my site isnt that popular, but it looks cool)

2008.11.12 Wednesday

All around the world, it was a hump-day. Before i went to bed last night, I could tell that this morning was not going to be good -- I was correct. I didn't feel like getting up at all; my legs hate me.

I did some simple leg exercises last night (and other exercises too), and of course my legs hate me the most. I'm pretty sure that I ran around and played football a few times in the past few months without having any cramps/soreness. I could have sprinted really well, but now.. no.

School was alright. Finished up a 3-week-long lab, and then started tackling homework. Speaking of that homework, seems like all the assignments I have cover information that was NOT presented in class. If that isn't a bunch of BS, then I don't know what is.

Now, watching an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with Kelc.

2008.11.11 Tuesday

Another day of being just a gear in a large machine. Work. Went to Popeye's for lunch, scrumptious! When I arrived home, more of my bathroom was missing. The only thing I can do in there now is shower. Yay for minor remodeling. I was able to crank through some homework, but I still have a chunk ahead of me. Oh, and I started making gif's. It funny how there is still argument over how "gif" should be pronounced. Some say "gif" like the peanut-butter 'jif', while others say "gif" like the soft 'g' in 'ghost', giff. What is your take?

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

2008.11.10 Monday

Alright. Monday is here. At least that means Monday-Night-Football is also here.

Once I got home, a headache started brewing in my noggin. I avoided most of my school work because of the pain, but I still stayed busy.

I'm hoping my work ethic will start spiking when I need it.

Monday, November 10, 2008

2008.11.09 Sunday

Kelc and I woke up and sat around for a bit, then headed off to see her little sis working at Starbucks. Mmm coffee. Then we walked around Target and picked up a nice charger kit for her Zune, and found an amazing child's piano toy but didn't buy it. A lady almost ran us over with her cart (that had a kid in it), but at least said "Sorry, potty emergency".

After that, we went back home to toss the football around for a bit and play with her dog. Then we went to my house to watch some more football and I edited her paper. The Steelers came on, so we went over to her house to watch it with her family.

Later on, we went back to my house, watched some late night football, straightened hair, watched the office, then went to bed. Gonna be a long drive in the morning :-\

2008.11.08 Saturday

Went to the Texas vs. Baylor game with my dad. The game was slightly surprising since Baylor scored a few times on Texas. The game was lacking energy; everybody was probably still asleep at 11am :-P The sun was also brighter than expected, so half of my face is burnt.

Kelc stayed at home doing all kinds of stuff around her house and working on a paper due Mon. Later she came over and we watched some more college football; other games were a bit more exciting in my opinion. Kelc's family cooked a delicious dinner and invited me over to join them. Afterwards, I fell asleep on their couch while Kelc continued to work on that paper.

2008.11.07 Friday

Gov test today. I can't seem to get myself to study anymore, so hopefully whatever information in my head will be enough.

Kelc came to ATX this weekend. She got in later than expected. Both of us were exhausted, so we watched a couple episodes of "It's always sunny in philedelphia" and then took a nap. I straightened her hair too. We drove to TacoB and they turned off their lights as we pulled into the drive-thru... thanks people, it was only 12:52.

Friday, November 7, 2008

2008.11.06 Thursday

Day off of work was nice. Actually, it made the day feel a lot shorter for some reason. Oh well.

I did some loads of laundry and studied most of the daytime. My dad took me out to Thundercloud Subs for lunch.

Later on in the evening, I went to some study sessions for the test I have tomorrow. They were informative and made me feel like the information kinda stuck this time.

Came home, ate some pasta, cooked some pasta stuff, and went back to studying. Pretty boring day; I hope me and Kelc change that by watching some 'It's Always Sunny'.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

2008.11.05 Wednesday

Today was mostly uneventful. Turned in an acoustics assignment that, of course, was extended to Friday. Spent a lot of time in the lab working on a 3-week lab, and have finished 13/14ths of it in two weeks, woo woo!

I spend the rest of the day studying for the Government test and DSP hw. Late last night I watched a really good episode of It's Always Sunny with Kelc.

G'night folks.

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

2008.11.04 Tuesday

Woke up bright and early for work today. It didn't feel too bad to wake up that early since daylight savings occurred over the weekend.

At work, I got a good chunk of work done. Andy and I went out to lunch at some hole-in-the-wall mexican place, delicious and not that expensive. Greasy food made me sluggish and tired afterwards. I stayed late and cranked out a bit more work since I will not be there Thursday.

I sped home and then went to go vote. Yay voting. Actually, I kinda hate how everybody gets all excited and proclaims "let your voice be heard, go out and vote" but if everybody voted, then it would just show how conflicting everybody's view is. I think the real solution here is to change how people deal with winning or losing.

So Obama won. Excellent. I was not an Obama supporter, but I am a supporter now. The real goal for people should be to get excited about politics and encourage debates, not complain about how bad a politician may be. Let's get excited about the next 4 years, no matter who you were originally supporting.

2008.11.03 Monday

Fun week beginning. School wasn't too bad, though I was exhausted through most of it.

Worked most of the evening on school work to prepare for the end of the week. Glanced up at the Steelers game every now and then, well done players!

Work tomorrow... mmmm.

Monday, November 3, 2008

2008.11.02 Sunday

Woke up grumpy today. Ended up going out to Kelc's lakehouse and getting away from everything. Nice mini-vacation. I was told I'm somewhat mechanically smart, yay. For dinner, we had frozen pizza. The pier that Kevin and I started is getting rather large. Then everybody began collaborating on some projects that should be somewhat challenging, but rewarding.

Ha! Thanks BCS rankings? Texas lost to number 7, and is now ranked number 4.... Tech beat number 1 and is now only number 2. And to think, this year was projected to not be that great for Texas... just think about how awesome next year is going to be.

2008.11.01 Saturday

Woke up late today. Felt good to finally get some continuous hours of sleep. Kelc and I parted ways; she went to watch the leander various cheer and dance squads perform at LHS. I went home and watched some football games and dealt with my phone ringing at inopportune times. Lunch consisted of a frozen pizza that I didn't cook quite long enough, but oh well, I was starving.

Later Kelc and I went over to Justin/Habibi/Travis's and watched the football game. Texas's had a rather disappointing first half offensively and defensively. Second half was better offensively, but the defense just didn't not pick up their game very well. Mistakes happened all over the game, and frankly, it was about time Texas showed that we are not flawless. I could go and on about "if only..." but it doesn't matter anymore. We played a good game. I'm still proud of the team. Texas Tech played a great game and kept us on edge the entire time. At least it's nice that we were beat by somebody in the top 10 and not someone ranked much lower.

Later, everybody met up at the yellow-house party. I had a fantastic time. Katie really could have killed somebody, Justin was a rock star, Habibi was about to take flight, Travis was doing ollies over everybody, Ray was the scariest comedian, Taylor was a creep rocker, Marisa was animated, Andrea was from a different country, and Kelc was the little devil she really is. Oh and I was able to drink away the concerns of a loss.

2008.10.31 Friday

Wow, Halloween already come and gone. There were a ton of kids going around my neighborhood, but they ended up stopping trick-or-treating by like 8:30pm. If I had gone, I would probably have gone till at least 10pm. Such babies. It's all about the candy and the fear of night.

After school (which was mostly uneventful), Kelc and I went to get some Rudy's for dinner. Then we stopped by Hollywood Video and got 5 movies that were being sold for 4 bucks each. I guess DVDs are being thrown out for the new format of the US...Blu-Ray. Funny how everybody though Blu-Ray was going to be a failure along the PS3. Anyways, I think buying those for 4 was a better deal than renting the movies. Last time I rented two movies, it was around 7 bucks. What a waste since I only had them for 5 days.

We watched Elizabethtown, which I know is one of Rudy's favorite movies. I noticed all the music, and a good chunk of lines from all the times he would be watching it while I would be doing homework. Pretty decent movie. The story isn't too involved, so you can just sit back and enjoy the dialog.

2008.10.30 Thursday

Waking up at 6am has never been my forte. I went in to work, but ended up just crashing there and spending some time on the porcelain throne till like 9. I met up with the guy I'm working for, and we had a meeting where we on the same wavelength more-so than other days. I guess that made me more excited to get some work done; I started cranking through the assignment.

Before I knew it... Crawfish Etoufee Lunch Thursday crept up on me. I went out and got food for Habibi and Ronalda because everybody was "too busy" to go all the way to Little Deli for lunch. Don't really believe that. I bet I could have asked Obama or McCain to go eat lunch with me, and once they knew it was crawfish etoufee, they would make the time to go eat :-P

I left work at normal time, and almost fell asleep on the way home. Then once I got home I could not fall asleep. I put a ton of windshield wiper fluid in my car; excited to see it spray all over the place tomorrow. Since then, I've felt more and more like my body is speeding up and I'm getting things done. I hate how my body does that: night comes so I get exicted... but I have to kill that excitement and sleep, then when I wake up I'm drowsy for the next 6-7 hours. I think I really am a night owl at heart.

Kelc and I are gonna watch episode 6 of season 1 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Good show, and somehow I had not heard about it until mid September, yet it is already showing the 4th season, I think.

2008.10.29 Wednesday

Long school day. The lab at the end of my day went rather well; it's supposed to last 3 weeks and consists of 14 tasks. Well my partner and I busted our way through 6 of those tasks and had time to spare. We might be able to finish in two weeks if things go really well next time!

The upcoming test in government is starting to make its presence, and just making the school days less fun to look forward to.

Kelc and I watched Playing By Heart tonight. Funny at some points, lots of big names, but there are a lot of story lines going on so it can be hard to follow.

2008.10.28 Tuesday

Good ol' Tuesday. Nothing better than waking up at 6am and going to bed past 1am. How fun it is to be a college student.

Work today wasn't that bad. Every now and then, I get emails from people complaining to others about how nobody really knows how to use MS Outlook, and blame all their problems on the software. Lunch was especially fun today. I needed to get out of the office for more than just a slice of time, so I followed the Habibi home after picking up some TacoB. We played a few songs on Guitar Hero World Tour; pretty fun, lots of new things going on with the faux-music scene.

After lunch, I had a meeting with a co-worker to redefine my assignment and tell me about a previous one. Apparently a lot of work I had done early in the summer went to waste, so that's somewhat a bummer. It's always good to know what is expected of you BEFORE you start doing work. Oh well, at least to the company I'm just chump change.

Kelc and I watched the Virgin Suicides. Well actually, I thought my disc was severly scratched, so I didnt think we would be able to watch it. NOPE, actually the video drivers for my video card are STILL in development stages and things are very unreliable. Thanks ASUS, I thought that was a respectable brand name. The card just came out in July though, so I guess having new technology means you pay for it monetarily and in time. The movie was pretty good, easy to watch, but semi depressing. In some ways, it makes me worried about what type of parent I may be in the future. Just more to think about.

2008.10.27 Monday

Drove back to ATX today; straight to campus. DSP class was led by a TA, so I probably slept harder than normal in that class. Lunch was good, Wendy's can be cheap if you let it be. I ordered side items, and paid less than I normally do and had food left over that I could not eat.

Government was pretty good surprisingly. I stayed awake, but at the end they handed back our quizzes. Damn I don't like the TA's at UT. Somehow I always get shafted.

Acoustics cheered me up. Look up 'highly directive sound sources', and my professor let us play with one in class today.

Now, I'm tired and very much need sleep. Until tomorrow ~

2008.10.26 Sunday

Super Sunday. Kelc and I woke up fashionably late. We cleaned up and went to get some Papa John's instead of Shipley's. We used a coupon and got to keep it, yay!

Steelers played and were winning for most of the game, but ended up dropping the ball and lost. Oh well, their record is still good. I couldn't be in that bad of a mood because I had been sipping on Vanilla Coke all day... my addiction is coming back. Kelc an I then went to Braum's to get some ice cream, then went to fill up my tires with air. Most of my tires were around 20psi and I'm pretty sure they need to be around 32-35psi, causing the edges to bald faster on the tires. No joke, it felt like the car was 4-6 inches higher.

We went back to Kelc's and started studying. She has an astronomy test tomorrow, I needed to take a DSP quiz online. I borrowed Lindsey's laptop, and internet explorer crashed in the middle of my quiz, so I had to email my professor about taking it tomorrow. In the middle of studying, we watch the Neverending Story. Not a bad movie, but there are clear points where they were trying to pull tricks with a very low budget; very clever ideas and good effort! Story on the other hand....

2008.10.25 Saturday

... Kelc and I arived in Arlington around 5am. For some reason, everytime I drive between Austin and Arlington, it takes just about 3 hours instead of 3.5 hours like it used to. I don't speed, and I even drive slower at night because of the 'night speed limit' (which is crap in my opinion, but that's another story).

We were ready to crash rather quickly, but someone was sleeping in our bed! Joshy also had a surprised look on his face, Linds was grumpy at Josh. Fun fun, eventually everything was sorted out, and we were able to get some shut-eye.

I had a hard time waking up. Kelc ended up getting Shipley's for me (thanks honey) and I think I went to sleep after eating that too. We hit the road later than planned for---Edgefest 18--- in Frisco, TX.

We got there right at the end of Seether, the watched Papa Roach, Rise Against, Toadies, Staind, The Offspring, and Stone Temple Pilots. (I hope I'm not forgetting somebody, but I feel like I am). Everything was a good show, but I'm slanting towards The Offspring as being my favorite of the day.

I'll elaborate and post pics on here later.

It was probably a good thing we slept in late... exhausting (but awesome) day.

2008.10.24 Friday

School felt like it took longer than normal today; pretty excited to get this weekend started. I got home from school and went to take a nap, and slept right up until the start of dinner with Kelc's family and grandparents. I really enjoyed seeing them again and spending some quality time with them. It surely felt like they were more talkative this time around. Last time I really spoke with them was about when I was a junior in high school, when we went to Octoberfest in New Braunfels Tx. The food was also delicious, home-cooked by Kelc's mom.

After that, we ran to my house to pack up for the rest of the weekend, then headed out to B-Taylor's and Andrea's place to party it up. Good seeing everybody. I had a lot of fun catching up on things. And football was fun too.

Around 2am, Kelc and I headed out on the road to Arlington...

2008.10.23 Thursday

Went to work. It's always fun seeing a mailbox full of just a week's worth of emails, and then having maybe 2 or 3 useful ones. One happened to say that the cafeteria would be closed for some other events going on, so I went out to lunch with Habibi. TacoB, not as good as TacoC, but still filling.

I got home, and busted out my sewing kit. I had a pair of shorts with 2 holes in one pocket and 1 hole in the other. I guess money actually was burning holes in my clothing. Some of my family wanted to go to TacoC for dinner, and I couldn't pass that up.

Later Kelc and I watched Lars and The Real Girl. Interesting movie; also a creepy movie. If you are interested, shop around realdoll.com for some 'interesting' merchandise, although I don't really recommend anything myself. The idea of having any of that stuff is creeping me out. *shiv
ers*

2008.10.22 Wednesday

*major yawn* Long day. I woke up early to being the drive from Arlington to ATX. I realized along the way how much I really enjoy the 101x morning show compared to the 6 or 7 I heard along the way. Also, for some reason it feels like the drive down to ATX is faster than the drive up to Arlington. Explain that one.

Once I got to school, the panic began to set in. I had just a few hours to cram and fill a "cheat sheet" for an exam. I really should have spent more time yesterday working on that, but pleasure got the best of me. The panic helped me stay awake in DSP. Probably one of the three times I didn't sleep in that class.

I spent all of government working on the study sheet and then marched to the test. No huge surprises; just would have went better with more practice. Oh well. Only 30% of the grade.

Went home and got my family some food for dinner, then watched Lions for Lambs with Kelc, long distance style. Pretty good movie.

2008.10.21 Tuesday

Stuck around Arlington today, instead of driving to see Dredg in ATX. I spent the school-day with Kelc. She had a Economic History class that was actually somewhat interesting. She took me for a tour of half of campus, saw a lot of buildings that look the same and aren't labeled very well.

We went home to check movie listings, but nothing good is out right now so we rented a movie about Babysitters that do 'favors' on the side, then turn it into a business. Fun idea, sorta.

We had Shipley's for breakfast, popcorn for lunch, Black Eyed Pea for dinner, and Sonic for dessert. Oh and turtle is still a demon. Later in the day we went to the library on campus to study/research. I have to get up early to drive back to ATX and get some last minute studying in for my acoustics test.

2008.10.20 Monday

Today was a long day. Didn't get enough sleep last night because my mom decided to come in my room at 4am and close the window (the weather was nice outside), then at 6am she was dropping pans in the kitchen and grinding ice cubes with the fridge. Payback will ensue...

I had a government quiz, and I feel like I did better than the last quiz we had. I hate how they give us the option of 2 question for each of the 3 sections we had studied... but in reality the 2 questions were the same thing just worded differently. Acoustics test is coming up, and none of the class seemed to care.

Then I drove up to Arlington for Kelc, oh and to see Dredg in concert at The Loft in Dallas. Amazing show to say the least. My ears were ringing for a while after the concert, but it was so worth it. The talent on their albums parallels their talent on stage, so I am a happy fan. The crowd was a mix of people getting too-in-to-it, to people just staring. I wonder how they will do in ATX tomorrow. Kinda want to go see them again :-P

2008.10.19 Sunday

Woke up late again. Went to bed around 12:30 and woke up about the same time... fun! Kelc and I went off to Pluckers so we could watch the Steelers game. This week was more fun than others, partly because we got to watch the Cowboys lose. Fried pickles were excellent too.

After that, we went home and gave Kip a walk around the block. He's doing a lot better now; just a few more weeks and he should be trotting around like normal. We went to my house to start tackling our school assignments. I needed a ton of motivation to get anywhere with all the reading I needed to cover. Pretty sure it's just not going to happen. My family decided to play a game called Apples to Apples, and we found out that Hellen Keller and Anne Frank cards go with just about anything. We ate some Domino's Pizza. Too soon, Kelc had to depart for A-town. It's so hard to see her go, but at least I'll get to see her again tomorrow... and the next day... and the next day.

Now I just need to finish studying and get ready for a meeting.

2008.10.18 Saturday

Woke up late today. Helped out Kelc's dad with some housework, then left to my house to watch the latest episode of The Office online. Lol, childbirth.

Went out to the game today. First half was amazing with a ton of energy in the crowd. Second half showed the team backing off a bit, but we still pulled out ahead 56-31. Woo woo.

2008.10.17 Friday

I didn't have much of a blog yesterday because most of my mental energy was spent on studying for the DSP test that I had. The test wasn't terrible, but out of the 4 problems, once I made it to the third, the professor said "you have 10 minutes remaining" so I started to scramble.

Kelc came to ATX today. Woo woo. In celebration, we went out to Applebee's and Barnes and Nobles, and went downtown Hookah'ing at Kasbah. I said some pretty interesting comments about how women are paid less than men in the workforce, and I pissed off a lady sitting behind me at Applebees. Kelc said she was about to get up and start bitching, but I guess she wasn't 'man' enough. :-P Ryachu and Jenkem got the Citrus Cooler, Kelc and I split the Banana hookah. Yum.

2008.10.16 Thursday

I don't have too much time right now, test tomorrow that I desperately need to study for. Wish me luck!

Oh, and the crawfish today was delicious! Why don't more people make food as good as this?

2008.10.15 Wednesday

Another hump day. It felt like I woke up early, but in reality I woke up at a normal school-day time, I just did not ride the bus where I get an extra nap in normally. Cool thing about the buses, they have wi-fi now. I need to take advantage of that. I want something that could perform like a mobile browser like the iTouch, but I also don't want it to be apple. Got any ideas?

Lab today was interesting. The professor made us do something the hard way when the easy way is extremely straightforward and simple. The TA ended up helping my lab partner and I out a great deal on the first half, and then we wrapped up the second half pretty quickly. There are only 6 people (including me) in this lab, and I'm thankful that I have an awesome TA for it. M
y Government class on the other hand... the TA who grades my papers is awful. I'm probably going to have to put extra effort into that class. It all boils down to being a really difficult class because some Texas legislatures felt that every college student should take this course. The professors know this, and make the class that much more fun.

*rant rant rant*

I've been studying some more for the test I have Friday. I have a lot to work on still. :-( Also, I have a quiz monday, and a test Wednesday just announced. Add to that a concert monday night, and a possible meeting, and fun ensues.

2008.10.14 Tuesday

Today was an abnormal Tuesday. No Crawfish Etoufee! The weather seemed fitting, cloudy and rainy most of the day. Work wasn't too bad. I managed to get beyond where I was before the computer started crashing. The sun came out to say hello on my way home. I stopped by Take5 to get a haircut. The lady cutting my hair said "put a smile on, it'll make everything better". That translates into "cheer up emo kid" so yeah... thanks lady. I was trying to pick out what outfit to wear tomorrow, and sent Kelc some picks to help me decide. Check out her blog if you want to see what she chose, and the new haircut. I started up a new Project, it's a secret though. I'm gonna call it the 2M0O0D8-Project. It does have something to do with audio, and hopefully I can do a good job at it. I'll try to write about that whenever progress is made, but my time seems sorta scarce at the moment.
Totally looking forward to Thursday's lunch special.

2008.10.13 (again)

I finally finished updating all the blogs to the new blog site. If you have a gmail account, you should take 2 seconds to make a profile and comment on stuff. The site is surprisingly easy to use, and doesn't take too long to tweak a few things. On a happy note, there is a check waiting for me that JeW's girlfriend wrote for me. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... we went to the Tool concert in San Antonio (at the AT&T center) I think around this time last year, and she was going to pay me back whenever. Then spring break rolled around and JeW's and I were the big spenders, and then everybody was going to pay us back lump sums. I guess since then, there has been this unpaid tab for her, until now! I think only Ryachu owes me money now, and still has my Doom3 game. There's a good chance I'll never see that thing again...lolz. Anywho, I fixed a cat5 ethernet cable that a demon started chewing through. And I should be getting to bed pretty soon.

2008.10.12 Sunday

Breakfast buffet, woo! It can be food timez now. After breakfast, we had to head back to the airport and begin the journey home. We caught a reasonable flight out of Pitts and landed in DFW again. There we ate at the TGIFridays at the airport, and then I had to express my farewell to Kelc for yet another school week *ugh*
On the upside, UT is now ranked #1, but they can't let that get to their heads. So far, I think everybody ranked in the top 5 has fallen to an upset game. There is also a pretty rough schedule ahead. Keep up the good work team! The Cowboys on the other hand... wow. Good job?

2008.10.10 Friday

Kelc decided to skip school and go to my school instead. The other option would have been waking up after 3 hours of sleep, and taking her to the airport for the off chance that she would make it onto a flight to Dallas. Instead we got to double-team my classes, eat some C-F-A and take a pit stop by the turtle pond on campus. After all my classes, ran into Rudy, then we rushed out with ShaSha to the airport. There, we were able to scarf down some Auntie Anne's pretzels and miss the first flight out. Eventually we made it to DFW and ate at luxurious 7 Salsas restaurant in Coppell. We also made a quick stop at Kelc's appt to pick up some things, and opt'ed for a hotel for comfort and proximity. *yawn* long day, time to crash.

2008.10.11 Saturday

Today we had to get up dark and early to run back to the airport and get on some flights. Luckily we didn't have too much trouble today with the flights, and got in to Pittsburgh at a reasonable time. We got to drive through the city and then on up to where the wedding was. The city looks amazing! The country-side even looks amazing. The trees are in the middle of changing colors, add to that the hills and excellent temperatures and you get one heck of a weekend.
We made it to our next hotel, and got some food to eat while watching the UT vs OU game. I was surprised they showcased the game as much as they did in that area. Apparently, there are a lot of football fans that care about the good teams :-P Congrats on the big 45 to 35 win UT. Doing much better than the forecasters had expected.
I found out that UT won at the end of the wedding, which was also just as amazing. Everybody was dressed very nicely, and I met a lot of happy welcoming faces. The reception was also done very well, and as Kelc expresses on her blog, there is a secret recipe of a really cool drink. Before we knew it, though, it was past midnight and our bodies were not happy with us.

2008.10.08 Wednesday

Running into familiar faces is usually fun, except when the both of you have nothing to say, then it's just awkward. There's a surprise today! Kelc is coming into town so that we can go to a concert. I feel like my weekend is already here. And to top that off, I'm going to have an awesome exploratory weekend. Just wish homework didn't get in the way of everything.

2008.10.09 Thursday

Things got off to a rough start. I couldn't get myself to wake up when my alarm was going off. Then when I finally did get up, I went to run an errand that couldn't even be completed. Out-of-stock :-( I got to go shopping with Kelc and picked up some classy shirts and ties. I'm totally excited about looking sharp. You know what they say, girls go crazy for a sharp dressed man :-P
Later on, I went to Freebirds for dinner (amazing place). Then booked it on downtown to see none other than Shiny Toy Guns. Amazing show, but also a tad short. I think they wanted us to encourage an encore, but people started walking out when they went off stage. Supposedly, Blue October showed up for the show as well. Good times!

Concert - Delta Fiasco, Jonezetta, Shiny Toy Guns - The Parish

2008.10.07 Tuesday

The saying is usually "two for Tuesday". Well today, I was able to say "9 for Tuesday" since I was able to try about that many different types of chili at the chili-cook-off at work today. About 10 minutes after I got that full feeling, I also got that oh shit, stomach no-likey feeling. Oh well, tons of meaty protein and social time for $5, and that money is going to help some organization for AIDS or something similar.
Speaking of work... work killed my work ethic tod
ay. Yesterday, I must have been riding some sort of adrenaline buzz with the lack of sleep because I got a lot of things done after I got home from school. But today at work, man... things were s l o w. My computer at work is even slower :-( I was actually late leaving from work because my computer froze up, so I had to restart to plug in my hours for the day. Bummer.
I got home today to have an interesting dinner choice. Hot-dogs and CHILI. Yum/Barf. The Presidential Debate made me chuckle a fair amount. I really think it might be easier to have 4th graders running for president since all they do is point fingers instead of inspiring or leading. The two parties need to crumble and let two new parties form and renovate the country. My $0.02

2008.10.06 Monday

The morning drive wasn't as bad as it could have been. As I watched people speed by me in the heavy showers/t-storms... I just enjoyed my music. Later on I find out the traffic is caused by them losing control and crashing into the middle barricade. Good job, people. Out of the 3 accidents I passed, luckily it looked like people just ran off the road or slid across the concrete barriers instead of slamming into a fiery ball of death. Thank you Civil Engineers for protecting the lives of those unable to do it for themselves.
The homework assignment I tinkered around with all weekend was unable to be completed. I started figuring some of it out with the assistance of BoyT, but alas, the printers were down and all the work could not be turned into the professor. On the up side, we do get one hw grade dropped. Oh, and it could be a movie night tonight!
For those who have not noticed yet, Kelc has begun a blog in competition with mine. (kipper8888.blogspot.com) The layout almost makes me want to change over, but I'm still on the fence. I'm also considering updating the site since there is little cross-browser support. Updates soon...

2008.10.05 Sunday

Ahh yes. Got some drank on, so I slept pretty good last night. I woke up with a ton of energy, so I ran to pick up Shipley's for breakfast, then started cleaning everything. Took a spin to Applebee's for lunch; Kelc's favorite entree is served there. Watched a bunch of NFL games, relaxed, and just overall had a good time (minus some demon encounters). I don't feel like leaving so tomorrow morning is going to suck.

2008.10.03 Friday

Yay tests. First test of the school year, in Gov nonetheless. So awesome how UT wants freshmen to fail at classes, and makes test much harder than they need to be. Professors are put in a tough position too, because they have to deal with that crap from higher up telling them how to run their class. *rant rant rant*
After my last class, I ran like a goof to my car and began driving to the almost-forgotten A-town. Went out to dinner at Pei Wei (much better than I remember) and then went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (opening night). The movie was pretty good, but a lot of the funny parts are shown in the trailers, but the story is pretty good. Got to Kelc's pretty late, gave her a surprise which she ended up falling asleep to. Weekend is going to be packed with fun festivities, stay tuned. I hope Kelc enjoys the surprise that is coming at her.

2008.10.04 Saturday

Wow what a day! Woke up and grabbed some delicious donuts. I had the Orange Iced and Cinnamon-Sugar, Kelc had the Chocolate Iced and Strawberry Iced. All excellent choices in my opinion. Throw in a milk, and the total came out to a whopping $3.68 I really don't understand how they are still in business. The donuts are so filling and fresh, and the price is non-existent.
We came home to work on a puzzle. A very lovely puzzle, but I did the hard parts and was frustrated at first. I don't remember ever trying to do a puzzle so early in the morning; definitely an eye-opener. After that, we got busy with some school/work/life stuff that needed taking care of. October is going to be crazy with concerts. Shiny Toy Guns, Dredg, Edgefest (fall), and Thrice/Rise Against.
Then we went shopping for Kelc. I'm actually jealous of all the delicious (and semi-healthy) food she gets to eat. We grabbed some PapaJ's and went home to watch the game. Well done Horns! A 38-14 win against Colorado. Keep up the work; next weekend is going to be big.

2008.10.01 Wednesday

Hump day wrapping up nicely after a rather rocky start. Went into school early to work on homework, only to find out that the due date is being extended. Thanks for that one. Now I just need to finish reading a few hundred pages for a test Friday. Thank you UT.
Oh, and boo! It's October now. Time to work on those costumes and pretend you are still in middle/high school and get some free candy.

2008.10.02 Thursday

Some might say I danced with the devil today; others say I'm excersizing some options. In reality, I expressed my interest in MS by going to an interview. The guy I spoke with was really nice, and works on a rather large team. This was actually the second-most technical interview I've been to. I interviewed with C.C. a year or so ago, and they really quizzed me hard. Alas, I came out showing that I had actually learned something from my education, but another candidate had more lab experience than I did, so I was denied.
Ugh face -- I have been studying for a test all day, and I'm not really that close to finishing (it's 11pm at the time of writing), go me! The weekend is so close that I'd rather think about that. Won't be around for the CP game (if there is one), UT
plays Colorado away, and Steelers play Sunday night. I just want to record music and do nothing all day, maybe play around with electrons. Work ethic has been shot.

2008.09.28 Sunday

Spent some time with good friends from various cities across texas early morning. Got to Kelc's place and surprise, we were locked out. Off to my place. Woke up semi late, went out to the lake again and saw a water-plane. Also, the water was even more cold than Friday evening. Major BRRR! Sunday syndrome kicks in without an ounce of hesitation.

2008.09.29 Monday

Back to classes. *major yawn* I only have to worry about a lab due wednesday, interview thursday, homework due and test friday. Ever notice how much more fun cleaning sounds when the alternative is studying for a test?

2008.09.30 Tuesday

A work day, but one of the better ones. Crawfish Etoufee! It was supposed to be spicy, but instead it just almost cleared up my sinus congestion. Exciting few days ahead, just need to keep my head above water.

2008.09.26 Friday

Ahhhh yes! Taking the phone off the hook, hanging up my hat, taking off my shoes... I (or should I say we) are taking a personal day. This is very much needed, and much appreciated. The lakewater is a bit colder than I expected, but refreshing nonetheless. Sonic was also a good choice for food, but I didnt get enough of it. Oh, and why would they put chili cheese fries on their side in a bag? Silly people.

2008.09.27 Saturday

Back at home. I let my brother take my place at the football game... it was a close one (52-10 lol). Did some arts and crafts, watched a movie, and helped out a computer in need.

2008.09.24 Wednesday

Pain. Anger. Disbelief. So much going on, I feel a bit disconnected.

Here's the start of something beautiful, an inspiration I hope to follow.

2008.09.25 Thursday

Week is wrapping up nicely. Can't wait for the weekend. No assignments are due, ACL is starting, friends are coming into town... all very exciting. More to come!

2008.09.23 Tuesday

EXPO today. What a day indeed. I handed out a fair number of resumes (17), but there were actually companies that didn't want it; they wanted to be environmentally friendly and reduce paper usage. I thought that was actually kind of cool, but I also already wasted the paper. :-)
Met up with some old engineering buddies, good running into you all!

2008.09.22 Monday

I'm writing this a day late, but that doesn't mean it is inaccurate. Today was interesting to say the least. I didn't get much sleep because I stayed up all night (oh the ironing), then study what I had just ironed, then took a quiz. I also wanted to get to school early today and work on some homework a couple hours before it was due, but the bus drove off as I was running up to the stop (thanks bus driver, I was actually on time). I fell asleep in all of my classes, something that never happens in acoustics.
Today, a new perspective emerges. -- A light shining one-way leaves darkness in others; changing the source only changes the darkness. --

2008.09.20 Saturday

Texas vs Rice, good job guys! 52-10 is decent ownage. Irby slipped a bit, and the defender was in a pretty idiotic position, so Irby's leg bent the wrong way. He's one of our better players, and probably will be gone for the rest of the season. Yuck.
Went to hang with the RacerJ and the Beeb-ster. Rocked out, without the rooster out, on some rock band. Maverick has one heck of a tongue.

2008.09.21 Sunday

Went out on the lake today with Kelc's family. Water was smooth as ice... and just as cold. Left early to head to Plucker's to watch the football game on one of the hundred tv's that they have there. Also, the game wasn't being shown in our area, so satellite tv brought the goods to us. If you haven't already, try the scrumptious fried pickles (if you like pickles, of course).
Kelc ended up staying in ATX for most of the evening, stretching the time rather well. We also watched the Family Guy movie that is a parody of Star Wars. Interesting, but I would have to say that the normal tv episodes are better unless you are a huge Family Guy fan.
I came home late only to find out that I got my lab book wet from going to the lake... and if i didn't do something about it, I would lose a chunk of the $100+ book. Oh the ironing...

2008.09.19 Friday

Yum, Friday. Went to a concert tonight, but first a surprise for a special someone. Took Kelc to Bennigan's. You've read correctly ladies and gentlemens. The Lakeline location is still open and churning up a good country chicken wrap, and warm pretzel turkey sandwich. Our waitress looked like Shawn Johnson, that awesome gymnast from the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
We headed downtown to La Zona Rosa to catch the concert. They opened with (and I could be wrong) I Hate Kate, then Cory Lamb, then Thriving Ivory (they stole the show, in my opinion), and the headliner Secondhand Serenade. According to Kelc, Secondhand played the same setlist; I think that is semi-lame, but he definitely did a good job singing. His inter-song lines could use some work though :-P
Came back home to start watching The Big Lebowski, but we just couldn't handle that much awesomeness in one night. Another time...

Concert - I Hate Kate, Cory Lamb, Thriving Ivory, Secondhand Serenade - La Zona Rosa

2008.09.17 Wednesday

Wow, humpday. The light at the end of the tunnel is near. The homework I originally had due Friday is now due Monday, which is good, but also means I might be procrastinating and ruining my weekend. Today was Schlumberger day in the engineering area. They definitely sound like a decent company, except the part about 'oil-industry'. Finding a company that is a fit might be the most difficult thing.
On the other end of the spectrum: I had two comments about my appearance today. I think I might be depressed enough that I almost look sick when I'm at school. Awesome. At least I had a very delicious lunch at Fricano's Deli today. That place has changed quite a bit, and yet still has the personal touch. It's one of the best places to eat around campus.

2008.09.18 Thursday

Today did not feel like Thursday. Well, maybe parts of it did, but at the time of writing this (late night) it doesn't feel like it. Typically I have a ton of anxiety for all the work that is due for tomorrow. But not this time. Woo woo! Speaking of 'woo woo', I need to get that recipe again. That is one delicious pink drink. The weekend is here, sorta; just need to sit through a few hours of lecture.
Don't stop the music.

2008.09.16 Tuesday

Today is a pretty dark day for me. Lots of things to gripe about.
-- People need to learn how to drive --
There isnt too much to elaborate on this one. I'm sure if you drive around town during peak times, you know exactly what I mean. Our society should totally shift away from the 8-5 workday; a rather aged daily ritual.
-- Dentists --
Ok, so I had an appointment today. Last time I went, they complained about my gums bleeding a lot because I never floss. I work in the extra effort to start flossing (which 99% of people dont bother) and guess what, my gums still bleed a ton. I got priase for bleeding today; make up your mind dentist! Maybe the praises started coming in once I began mentioning that I could be switching insurances, and won't come back to their establishment. ...Interesting...
Oh and este un tiempo al bandcamp, LOLz

2008.09.14 Sunday

Went out on the lake today with Kelc's family. Ike made the water pretty choppy, so no backflips this time.
Wow, Stealer's won 10-6. Amusing game. Watched it with RacerJ and his brother that I haven't seen since that awesome cruise (Lol, good times). Oh and H-beeb was there too.

2008.09.15 Monday

Nifty! Getting some cold weather already here in ATX. Yesterday was probably the last possible day to go out on the lake, unless it warms up a ton this week. Last night I went to sleep around 2:30 and woke up at 4:20. Vanilla coke is playing games with my heart....with my heart.
