2009.12.24 Thursday

Last work day of the year.

Also, not much happening today. Probably doesn't help that there is only a handful of people on the entire campus.

Did my own thing for some of the evening, hung out with family and friends the rest.

Pretty chill day.

2009.12.23 Wednesday

Not much happening today.

Took care of some things, ran errands.

Went over to Kelc's to play some Catan.

Then sleep.

2009.12.22 Tuesday

Groggy morning. Maybe staying up late eating unhealthy food wasn't such a great idea.

Early morning meetings should be outlawed. Just a suggestion.

Went to the gym over lunch, maxed out on flat bench. Totally threw up 165 without much of an issue. I can also press sets of 135 without a problem. Mark this down though, without access to the gym, and all the good holiday grub I'll be eating.. this is likely to not be true once in the new year.

I started to feel the soreness set in in the late evening. Sweet. It's pretty evident that I'm not ready for the holiday season at all.

2009.12.21 Monday

Last week of the first year that I work full time. Amazing how fast it has come and gone.

Work is picking up, or slowing down depending on how you look at it. Other things in my life are definitely picking up though. Multiple trips in line, lots to prepare for. Friends wanting to celebrate the holidays.

Twenty Twelve will be here before you know it.

2009.12.20 Sunday

Woke up much earlier today. Not so headache consumed. We played some Mario Bros. Wii and ate breffix.

For lunch, we went to see Avatar. 3 hours later, the sun was gone and we were walking out of the movie. It was alright. There are a lot of underlying themes that either they "stole" to put in the movie, or they put in there to make a point. Some of the scenes were pretty well done, some were cheesy, but overall its pretty impressive that an entire world was created for the movie. Lol @ unobtainium.

Went back to the mall to fix some shopping decisions, and cruised on home.

The drive felt longer this time around.

2009.12.19 Saturday

Red wine will produce headaches. It's not that I had all the much, but I think it was more a combination of dehydration and exhaustion.

Went to ihop for breffix. Ray said something along the lines of 'true gangsters dont cry'.

Marisa showed us around the cyclotron. I could tell Ray was slightly entertained for a few minutes, Kelc kept interest a tad longer, and I was ready to go explore every nook and cranny. The amount of resources and technology (and money) that went into the cyclotron is pretty amazing. It's awesome how far man has gotten with understanding the world around us.

After that we went home to watch Primer. Wait what? My mind just exploded. Check out that movie.

Ray and Marisa went to a party, Kelc and I went shopping for the holidays. After that, rendezvous and party.

2009.12.18 Friday

Potluck day at work. Well actually, they titled it a "Pig-out feast". It is more correct that way.

Good day at work, mostly relaxing and remembering my roots.

Went home, ate a bunch then crashed. Packed up and headed out to college station.

The drive went by pretty quickly. Listened to some radio shows and fresh albums.

2009.12.17 Thursday

Sore today? My Achilles tendons are. Cant remember that ever happening. How much would it suck to have one suddenly snap while trying to walk? I thought about it for a second this morning and gave myself the shivers.

Went to the gym anyways. Did chest and triceps and a few other random areas.

Once home, at some of the chicken taco soup/chili that I made. Busted butt getting some chores done, worked on music. That's about all I had time for. Time flies by so fast in the winter. The sun is hardly up any more.

Watched some IT Crowd and passed out.

2009.12.16 Wednesday

Hump day atlas.

Got through meetings and fun stuff.

Did back and bicep stuff at the gym, hopefully that doesnt affect my plans of helping Taylor move tonight. Seems like the gyms aren't being utilized as much anymore. I guess people are preparing for the winter and putting on a layer of fat.

Had a quick apple for dinner, then went to go help move.
Apple beats the pear, circle gets the square.

Back home I ate a bunch of random things until I felt mostly full. Kelc helped me make a crock pot chicken taco soup. We'll see how it goes this time.

2009.12.15 Tuesday

Groggy.

Accomplished some things, and just got through work the best I could. Skipped the gym today to treat myself to a nice serving of Popeye's chicken. Mmm Mmm.

Cooked up a nice meal for dinner. Pasta, salad, bread, cheese, meat.

And worked on some music.

Monday, December 14, 2009

2009.12.14 Monday

Work again. Seems to be a recurring theme.

Went to the gym and got a good burn and rip going.

Worked on some music, relaxed most of the evening.

2009.12.13 Sunday

Woke up in a cold and dark room in the house. Really didnt want to get out of bed, but also couldnt stand being trapped any more.

Played some more games, watched tv and just chilled all day.

Eventually some family photos were taken.

Then Kelc helped Kev with some homework, I went and got ready for the upcoming work week. My time schedule is all messed up.

2009.12.12 Saturday

Woke up just in time for Kev's gym meet. He did really well, and was the only representative from his gym. Met some long lost friends of the Fraser family.

Afterward, we helped Kelc pack up to move home for the winter break. Then started the short trip home.

Once home, we unpacked some stuff, then got ready to head on out to the lakehouse. Yay more car ride. Luckily the fog started to roll in, and my green laser was able to keep my amused very easily.

On the trek to the lakehouse, Kevin stalled his car and panicked. Really funny, and the donkey showed up to say hello.

Games and fun all night...

2009.12.11 Friday

Woke up and felt pretty groggy and gross. Sucks having a cold.

Spent an hour and half fixing my record player. This thing has been spinning closer to 34.5-35 rpm instead of 33.3333. And the way sony made it sucks. The speed adjustment screws are on the bottom of the player, but you need to adjust it so you also want to have stuff playing while adjusting. Sucks.

I got it sounding pretty good. After about 1.5-2 minutes, a song played simultaneously digitally will start to un-sync and give a heavy echo sound. Good enough for me. the high speed made some songs sound weird, but now all is well.

I should really just get a new turntable instead of wasting time on this, but I'll wait till after Christmas, maybe even after vacation, to buy a new player. There are so many choices, I can't decide.

Worked on my car some, and music the rest.

Then began the long and treacherous trek to Arlington.

2009.12.10 Thursday

Spent a long day at work to finish up some End-Year paperwork. Bleh.

Went home to help my family move stuff for the carpet installation, but they worked too fast and were done by the time I got there. Spent time talking to everybody and helped out with a couple things. Tried consuming some apple cider vinegar, talk about yum.

Pretty much just went to bed then.

2009.12.09 Wednesday

Hump day, and day of meetings. Thank goodness tomorrow is the last day of the week for me.

Went to the gym later than normal. Lots of stuff came up to get taken care of. I pushed myself even though nobody was around to save me if I got into trouble with weights. I did my normal gradual increase on bench up to 5 reps of 140 lbs on bench. That's a 5 lb increase. I think I'll be able to do 8 of the same weight by next week. Did other chest and tricep exercises, plus some abs and bike-cardio.

Work is starting to get really fun. All the different facets of having a corporation job are coming together for some epic ending.

Watched Mythbusters and took care of stuff around the house.

2009.12.08 Tuesday

Happy half birthday to me,
Happy half birthday to me,
Happy real birthday dear Mark,
Happy half birthday to me.

You know what sucks about this celebratory day? I'm starting to get a sore throat and feel sick. Not good.

Skipped the gym because I didn't want my body to work overtime trying to heal.

For dinner, celebrating Hasbro's bday with Benihana. Yum I finished my meal.

Worked on some music. This song I'm working on is almost done. Very exciting.

Monday, December 7, 2009

2009.12.07 Monday

I think half of my body is starting to enjoy getting up early each day, but I'm still groggy as heck for at least 10 minutes.

Went to the gym, did a bit of cardio, mostly bicep and back stuff.

At home I just goofed around. Helped Travis get a futon. Ate a nice dinner. Not much happening.

2009.12.06 Sunday

Slept in a fair amount today. Goofed around and did my own thing. I guess it was mostly a recovery day since everything was so action packed all weekend.

Went to a surprise b-day party for Mark and had a great time. I need to try and take my family out to Karaoke at some point and make them feel awkward.

Went to the Union to bowl and billiard it up.

Then more sleep. Thanks for being here so soon, work week.

2009.12.05 Saturday

Woke up early to go all the way downtown. Watched Trey graduate. Can't believe he made it. So proud of him. In your face Patt?

Went out with his family to Rudy's afterwards. His family reminds me of mine.

Off to HEB to start cooking up some chicken recipe I found online. Ended up forgetting a few ingredients and just saying screw it.

Took a nap during the Florida - Alabama game. Alabama came out victorious by a large margin, which I feel surprised a lot of people.

The Texas - Nebraska game was pretty disgusting how badly both teams were playing. It all came down to a last-second 46 yard field goal. Wow.

Went to a party after that, Boy Taylor and Andrea. Didnt stay for long because I was so tired.

Friday, December 4, 2009

2009.12.04 Friday

Supposed to snow today, but I'm a skeptic.

Work flew by. Went to the gym and lifted quite a bit, hopefully to compensate for the next two days that I won't be doing much physical activity.

Cooked up a lot of veggies for dinner and did my own thing. Kelc stayed in Arlington for a few things. Ray and Marisa came over to hang out. They helped me finish up the talkbox rewiring. Then we went to Kerbey Lane for late night snack with D.

2009.12.03 Thursday

Just another day. Oh wait, no its not. I get to go to the oral surgeon today.

Had a bit of confusion trying to figure out which door led to the correct oral surgeon, but I got it right on the first try. Woo woo, go me. They made me fill out a ton of paperwork and wait around. Then I took a panoramic x-ray and SURPRISE I really have all 4 wisdom teeth. Dentist never saw that one coming.

Back at work I just happened to be more productive than normal. Weird. No gym today. Guess its a recovery day.

Worked on my laptop at home, hoping to get it up soon and use it as a recording station.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

2009.12.02 Wednesday

Whats that? Yeah thats what. It's hump day. Bow chicka bow wow.

Woke up way before my alarm today. Talk about sucking.

Not too much happened today. Went to the gym and did cardio. That includes leg workout, plus elliptical, plus ab workouts, plus bicycle machine. Pretty sure I hate cardio, but I need to force myself to do this for my heart. It's kinda broken.

Watched a bunch of mythbusters, ate some tortellini, nearly passed out on the couch.

2009.12.01 Tuesday

The days of Christmas are upon us. I remember this time last year when I was winding down my classes and preparing for finals/graduation. The weather was not so cold and not so rainy. Ending my senior year with only a few classes and part-time job definitely made me grow up a lot. Heck, college in general is what really launched me into life and such.

Anyways, more work today. I had a good feeling about this before it even happened, but they are shifting me off the project I've been on for the past 10 months because of some silly management. I'm actually not upset or surprised, but I think what other people in the company are doing is silly. At least with the new year comes new tasks and changes. Change is good.

Went to discount tire co after work today to get my tires rotated. They tried to sell me some protection plans and balancing stuff, just said no and my total came out to $0.00 I also had to drive my car out of the garage because the guy who did my tires didnt want to drive a stick shift. I appreciate him not trying and messing something up, and I think he did a good job too. Speedy and precise (or is it accurate).

Ate an entire pizza for dinner. Close to 1500 calories, 68g fat, 48g protein. Holla!

Messed with recording equipment around the house, yadda yadda yadda.

2009.11.30 Monday

Ever feel like you should be sleeping, but can't?

Work flew by today. Got a good workout in, didnt lose too much ground from thanksgiving.

At home I took care of laundry and various tasks. Then realized I didn't have any checks left, so paying for things was going to be difficult. Managed to make a few trips around town to remedy the situation and pick up packages and stuff.

Watched a bit of MNF, but mostly I've lost hope for my fantasy teams. I went into this season too pumpd up for it. I need to remind myself how silly it is.

2009.11.29 Sunday

Watched some NFL games out at the lakehouse and played more games. We learned that it really isn't a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake, and it's even harder to remember to flip over a cake after baking.

Went over to Kelc's house to watch the steeler's game and eat some pizza/pasta. Game went into overtime, which is really exciting, especially since the steelers were down so many star players. Unfortunately, they didn't hold the ravens.

Back to my house to prepare for the upcoming, lengthy work week.

2009.11.28 Saturday

Spent most of the day relaxing. Played a bunch of old games on the computer with Kelc. Tecmo Bowl ftw. Made some Hamburger Helper for lunch.

Later went to Taco Cabana for some dinn-dinn. Went out to the lakehouse with Kirbs and Kev this time, more Catan and Hand-n-Foot.

2009.11.27 Friday

A last minute decision was made to drive out to Kelc's lakehouse to spend the night there. We watched some TV and fell asleep easily. I woke up and cooked up some bacon. We played games most of the day, ate various foods.

Later on in the evening, Karaoke with Marisa and Ray, Taylor and Habibi, Justin, Kelc and I. Started the night off strong with some One Step Closer, ended even stronger with Don't Stop Believin' and Bohemian Rhapsody.

2009.11.26 Thursday

Woke up early to begin the drive today. Picked up my sister then picked up Watson downtown; off to Chappell Hill TX for thanksgiving with the family. It's past Brenham and before Hempstead on 290.

They have a lot of land out there, raising some animals like cows, chickens, rabbits and cats.

The food was again excellent. Didn't take long before I was napping yet again.

We watched the first 3 quarters of the UT vs A&M game, then left because it was getting late. That game was actually entertaining. Most people thought it would be a blowout, but A&M held their own. Great job to both teams.

2009.11.25 Wednesday

Mega duper tired today.

Went to gym again, this time I benched a smaller-rep set of more than I weigh. Bamf.

At home, we celebrated a pre-thanksgiving / Hasbro birthday. Just one of those years where the holiday and birthday line up. I supplied corn and baked apples, Kelc brought pumpkin cheesecake, taylor made a turkey (amazing, and also her first try), Hasbro made stuffing, Justin made mashed taters, Marisa and Ray brought green bean casserole and rolls and a cousin.

Stuffed and tired.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

2009.11.24 Tuesday

Sleeepy sleepy.

Work went by without incident. Went to the gym and did a bunch of random workouts, nice change-up.

After work I went to a bake shop and picked up flavor oils and coloring. Then went to HEB to do some grocery shopping. Spent a bit more than I normally do, had to get medicine and batteries and other randoms.

In preparation for a pre-thanksgiving dinner celebration, I baked some apples and started making candy batches. The apples turned out really well. The first batch of candy was a fail. The second batch was a win. The house smelt of mint and strawberries.

2009.11.23 Monday

What an amazing weekend. Amazing people, amazing fun, amazing food, amazing weather, and amazing timing for everything.

With all this greatness, comes not-so-greatness. Getting little sleep and then trying to go to work. Good thing this work week is only 3 days for me. Another example of great timing.

Went to East Side Cafe for Hasbro's birthday lunch. Excellent place.

At home I washed my clothes, washed sheets, did the dishes, and vacuumed the downstairs. Feels good getting stuff done. Also watched some football, played around with music, and cleaned up some of my room.

2009.11.22 Sunday

Woke up to an alarm on a Sunday. That almost never happens. Had to take Matt and Sammy to the bus station so they could make it home at a reasonable hour.

Dropped Paul off at home so he could spend time with his family.

Went to the mall to drop off some tuxes.

Went to Fowlers to watch the Steelers play, and unfortunately lose in OT.

Watched some Showtime Weeds, changed my car oil, and went to Freebirds for dinner.

Then Kelc and I went over to the suite to spend the final moments of the weekend with the happy couple and Paul. They were gifted with a nice cigar, so we enjoyed that together. Marisa still needs to work on her technique :-P

2009.11.21 Saturday - R&M Wedding

Woke up around 9. Good thing too, we wouldn't have made it in time to anything. Thank goodness for B12 too. We all woke up slowly, took showers, and generally never felt rushed. Chris and Heather, and James all met up at IHOP for a good way to start the day. When we walked in, they lady keeping track of tables said the wait would be about 40 minutes. What a buzz kill. Luckily, Chris had gotten there earlier and they called his name a minute later, so we were seated without issue. Perfect timing. We all placed our orders, caught up on the good times, and received our food. Chris led us in a prayer to bless the food and the day we were about to experience.

We headed back to the suite and started getting dressed for the ceremony. I had to show a couple things to everybody, but no major problems. Ray thought he was going to suffocate in his vest, until he figured out you can adjust how tight it is. We all sharpened up very nicely, and started getting nervous about getting to the church on time, so we half-assed the handkerchiefs and just started driving. We did the car swap at HEB and I drove the last few miles to the church.

Once there, we spent time with all the groomsmen in a room, and took some pictures. This was a little stressful because it was literally a room designed to watch the clock reach a certain time. We cracked some jokes and tried to just relax. Nex thing I know, we are making our way up to the alter.

The ceremony went mostly perfect for the first half, then near the end, all the tension was building up that something HAD to happen. A few words fumbled, a few miscues, and some audience laughter to relieve the tension. I actually felt a lot better about the audience laughing.

I walked with Damaris back to the bride's room, and celebrated the completion of the marriage with the entire wedding party. Then came picture time. I could tell some of the groomsmen were getting antsy and wanted to take off the attire.

Marisa, Ray, Damaris and I jumped in a 1940 Limo and cruised in style all the way to the reception hall. We had to do a drive-thru, and the place we picked? Golden Chick. Woo.

Once we were at the reception hall, we realized we had quite a bit of time to kill. Sat around, walked around, goofed around.

The sound guys called out Damaris' and my names, and we walked out to greet everyone. Ray and Marisa followed shortly. Dinner was fantastic, but then I started getting nervous. My toast was coming up, and I'm terrified of speaking. (Side story: I used to not be so worried about speaking or presenting in front of groups, but once I took Speech class in high school, which tells you all about what to do and what to not do in speaking, I became paranoid that I was going to mess something up, and I've never healed from that) Good thing I typed out pretty much everything I wanted to say. I could barely hear what Damaris said before me because I was so worried about blowing chunks. My turn was up and I just took a deep breath and went for it.

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for celebrating this wonderful day with Ray and Marisa, whom I refer to as "the happy couple". Ever since I started blogging a few years back, they became what I like to call "the happy couple". I'm not saying that they are perfect and everything is always happy, but more that they are happy with each other through the ups and downs and the trials and tribulations of life and their relationship with each other...and that is proof to me that they belong together.

I met Ray in 8th grade, back in the year 2000, practicing for a CPMS symphonic band competition. He was chosen at the last minute to join the top band for this competition in order to fill a gap made by another player. He had very little time to learn the music and he genuinely impressed me with his beautiful performance under the unusual and difficult circumstances.

Then we moved on to high school. Here is where I give a ton of credit to Ray for opening my ears to new styles of music. He would always point me to new artists and new songs and even gets the credit for introducing me to the now well-known band 'Tool', just as they started hitting their stride and taking things to different levels. He was also key in jump starting my interest in music composition, and culturing a love for music of all kinds. Those are things that will stay with me forever.

Also in high school, our common friendships converged into a group that we refer to as "The Krew". Crazy as it may sound, before long, the 'Krew' was most easily compared to the classic power rangers. (For all those who know the different types of power rangers, I am just referring to the first version of rangers released to the US). Matt, with his intellect, was the blue ranger. Chase, with his smooth talking, was the black ranger. Ray, with his stunning looks, was the pink ranger. Chris, with his noble and fearless leading ability, was the red ranger. Paul was the outsider, but also a welcome addition; he clearly fit the green ranger's role. Me, with my crazy antics and unrefined combat abilities, was the yellow ranger. If you have been keeping track so far, Ray is the pink ranger and I am the yellow. For those that may be unfamiliar with the group, these are strangely enough, the two female power rangers. I guess this helped define the brotherhood, or should I say sisterhood, that Ray and I now have. I wouldn't replace it for anything.

So with the historical stuff being shared with everyone here, I'd like to raise a toast to Ray and Marisa for having an amazing wedding on this most beautiful day in November. Maybe one day the Krew will be fortunate enough to defeat Rita Repulsa or Lord Zed and maintain happiness on earth. One thing is for sure though, the "happy couple" is now happily married and will charge into the future making many new and everlasting memories together. I love you guys. Cheers.

So glad once that was over, still had thoughts racing in my head and still couldn't really hear what everybody else was saying. Next up, partay! The dance floor stayed rockin the entire night, lots of mixing old and new. Amazing how alcohol gives you the ability to dance.

And in a flash, we were seeing the happy (married) couple off to the limo.

I took a group home with me and we listened to some tunes and passed out before long.

What an amazing day. Surreal.

2009.11.20 Friday

I'm still having a hard time waking up these days. Work is just cruising for a bruising.

The weather was pretty sub-par today. Rainy and just all-around not something you'd want to be in. Lunch was at a brown-bag meeting today; skipped out on the gym. I had some healthy choice tuscan style chicken microwave meal. Something about these microwave meal's noodles is starting to hit some funky taste buds. The chicken and sauce was just fine.

Before I knew it, the work day was over and the weekend was upon me. Went home to pack up my things and went off to the Wedding Rehearsal. I think this is when it really started to hit me that one of my best friends is getting married. The happy couple, soon to be forever together. The rehearsal dinner was at Rudy's BBQ, an excellent choice. Can't get enough new potatoes. The happy couple gave out personalized beer glasses as thanks for being with them through this whole process. Ray's dad, Ray, also gave a speech thanking everybody for coming and had a few good words to say about the happy couple. Very nice.

Some of the guys grouped up, and we considered going to a gentleman's club, but ended up just dropping by HEB and then off to the honeymoon suite. Drank some amazing wine, and spent the night with the groom.

All Ray could say... nanobots.

2009.11.19 Thursday

Work day. And poop.

Time is beginning to start to crunch for the wedding. It's weird that I feel like that even though it's not my wedding. Guess I'm nervous about the toast and ceremony and everything. Really though, what should I be nervous about? Mostly nothing.

Ran errands after work. Hair cut, pick up tux, home to socialize and pick up mail.

Ray and Paul came into town. Haven't seen Paul in such a long time. Lives all the way up in Pennsylvania. We chilled and discussed various things, listened to some vinyls, reminisced.

2009.11.18 Wednesday

Today I feel like I can relax a little before the wedding stuff picks up.

Work came and went. It's weird that the system we use to track time just completely messed up my time card. They have been doing lots of changes to the system, but they didn't consider that maybe possibly someway it could be the computer's fault. Going to have a delayed paycheck now.

After work, Hasbro and I started moving the junk around upstairs to set up a jam area. The plan is to eventually get a drum set in there too somehow. JEw Hasbro and I went to guitar center, mostly for Hasbro, but I started looking at guitars. I may have to splurge in the near future on my x-mas present here.

Set up the system and had a jam session. My ears are sufficiently obliterated for the night.

2009.11.17 Tuesday

Funny how sometimes things are so messed up at work, and you would think the obvious answer would be how things are normally done. Well, that's usually not how it is. Lots of gudge in this business, and people are reluctant to let go of it.

Went to the gym and did lots of random workouts to change it up a bit. Afterwards, work was celebrating a tailgate day, so lots of teams brought food and raised money for charity. Yum. I had a queso that hit the exact spicy note that I like. Only sampled it about 5 times.

Went to a meeting today. Pretty much fell asleep for it. It was mostly a pep-talk about changing how the business works.

At home, I finished up some electronic tracking. Hopefully that materializes into a song.

Still working on my toast...

2009.11.16 Monday

Woke up with a headache. Not a great way to start off the work week.

Lots of crazy things going on this week. Lots to prepare for. Work might have to get some back-burner time.

Went to music lessons at night. Learned a fair amount and answered some questions of mine. I wish I could just cram my brain with this information and just instantly be able to use it. Unfortunately I'm still pretty slow at doing the computations in my head.

Saw some of the MNF game. Score at halftime was 0-0. Sounds like an exciting game right?

2009.11.15 Sunday

Today was pretty much an NFL day, and a catch-up-on-rest day. Took naps and ate food while watching NFL. I can't really ask for much more than that.

Played some Hand N Foot, then went home and went to bed.

Pretty simplistic day.

2009.11.14 Saturday

So excited about tonight. House of Torrrrrrrrrrment.

Watched the UT game and ate Firehouse subs for lunch.

Spent some of the day preparing dinner of baked chicken and chicken flavored noodles. Cleaned my own chicken and guessed a marinade.

Kelc, her mom and I took Sunny to a new home. Good luck rooster.

Mark and Nadia showed up. Off to Highland Mall to one of the scariest houses in Texas. So pumped.

...

That was a lot of fun. I really want to do this in Feb/Mar whenever they open again.

Another crazy night...

2009.11.13 Friday

What a crappy day.

Woke up feeling groggy after getting plenty of sleep. Drove over to the dentist to get 3 cavities taken care of. I really don't like the idea of having my mouth open for more than a few seconds at a time. Not only that, but they shot me up with a bunch of local anesthetic and I couldn't really feel my face anymore. Technically, I don't think these were cavities just yet, more of a preventative measure. The location of these 'soft spots' was pretty inconvenient, so I understand the desire to take care of them now.

Paid for my stuff, went out to my car, put it in reverse, and BAM I hit a car. How did this happen you might ask? Well I had looked back in both directions, and in the rear view mirror. I was turning out to the right at first, but remembered I needed to stop by the bank, so started pulling out to the left. As soon as I switched to looking over my left shoulder and was halfway out of the parking spot, a van decided to stop in the road behind me. From the angle I was leaving the spot and how the van pulled up I couldn't see it over my left shoulder. My rear bumper took most of the damage, chipped paint and bent plastic. The van I hit... just had my paint on it, which was easily wiped off. However, the people in the van were pretty pissy and started blaming me for hitting them after I was clearly backing out of the spot for a while. Insurance also came to the conclusion that I was at fault, which is typical of parking lot instances such as this. The problem I have with this is that I was going so slow, and I was already so far out of the spot that I don't know why they would just stop right behind me.

Went to Guitar Center with Hasbro and Kelc. Found something I want. Cheered me up a bit.

Went to Zen for early dinner. Also cheered me up some.

Ray and Marisa came over to hang out. Things got pretty wild. Listened to some Tubular Bells on vinyl.

Twitch twitch.
The left ear has a twitch.
Do to deserve this?
Was I a bitch?
Twitch twitch.

Going insane.
This twitch is a pain.
Can't wait for lunch.
Am I sane?
Going insane.

Etoufee day has it's ups and downs.

At least the work week is over. Kelc came into town so the fun can now begin. We took Habibi over to her house and played cards and games with the family, then went home really late and crashed.

2009.11.11 Wednesday

Well this hump day is different. All my meetings were either canceled or moved to another day.

I also have a dentist appointment, ugh.

Left work early to get to the dentist, felt pretty good that I was getting this taken care of.

Well, that feeling quickly faded when they criticized me. First off, I've been doing a helluva better job with flossing. 99% of the population doesnt care about that crap and here I am doing the right thing. THEN, they tell me my teeth are relatively clean, but my gums bleed too much. STOP STABBING ME and maybe I'll stop bleeding. And anyways, if my teeth are clean, and i dont have gingivitis, who cares? My gums are just more sensitive and softer than others. PEOPLE CAN BE DIFFERENT. Oh and then they tell me I need to come in again to take care of 3 cavities. That's right, THREE. Well I asked them to show me the problem areas on the xrays, and they are just preliminary weak spots, no cavitation at all. I think they are just trying to take my money, or hating on me for not coming in often enough. Jerk faces.

Went to bed with the ability to still spit blood from my 'routine cleaning'. Mouth soreness blows.

I did manage to distract myself by working on music, and I made some fantastic stuff, although still in the preliminary stages.

2009.11.10 Tuesday

Nuh uh. Waking up is not something that should be forced this much. Bleh.

Today was a day of meetings that I normally don't attend, and a training session that I've been waiting all year to make up. Don't worry, I was only at work from 7a to 8p.

I'm kind of surprised that no one said anything about me having a vampire kitty on facebook/yesterday's blog. The most significant thing I'd like to point out is that MY KITTY DOESN'T SPARKLE. No glitter was used in the making of vamp-kitty.

Made some tortellini, hot dog, and chips for my late dinner. Then played around with some music stuff, and went to bed.

2009.11.09 Monday

Woke up reasonably easily today. Seems to be common among Mondays.

Work was a can of worms that I didn't want to open. It all boils down to people making decisions for the masses without disclosure or confirmation from those masses to begin with. What a horrible decision. Now some people are unable to do their jobs because others had a power trip.

Went home, sat around. Left for my Music Lessons. Turns out my teacher is pretty awesome and chill. We went over some of the building blocks to music theory.

Watched small chunks of the Steelers game on MNF. Couldn't totally get into it, but there were some nice plays from both teams in the second half.

Then zzzz.

2009.11.08 Sunday

Woke up pretty early. Well, 'early' is relative. I only slept about 4-5 hours and wasnt able to go back to sleep.

Cooked some bacon...yum. Two days in a row. Luckily I remembered with about 15 minutes to spare that I needed to update my fantasy teams. In one league I have a 2-loss streak and in 6th out of 6 places. In the other, I have a 3-loss streak and in 6th out of 8 places. Not my year.

Watched some football and random tv shows while installing programs for windows 7. So far, Win7 seems like it is more compatible with the programs I use than vista, except for one thing, my mp3 player's software. Well, turns out win7 natively supports my mp3 player without the need for manufacturer software, pretty sleek!

Overall, a pretty relaxed day. Don't think I went outside but maybe once or twice. Weather kinda sucked anyways.

2009.11.07 Saturday

Woke up to some crowing. Started around 5:30a. Bleh.

Watched the UT vs UCF game, and cooked some bacon. Played around outside some.

Went back to my house while Kelc, Linds and Kev went around town to go take pictures. I hope they turn out well; I'm pretty excited to see what comes out of them.

Ray and Marisa came over with Scooter, we left to go play some bowling. I was doing pretty well but then choked a few frames and lost my chances at breaking 100. Pretty disappointing.

Went back to the house and started consuming a beer that Ray had bought, La Fin Du Monde, or 'the end of the world'. It's a pretty awesome beer in my opinion. I like the flavor, I like how strong and potent it is. One cup also did me in. We listened to some vinyls and went for a neighborhood adventure in the middle of the night. Standing next to a train is one of the coolest things. The immense earth-shaking power and speed is awe-inspiring. Oh and its kind of loud.

Listened to some more vinyls and wrapped up the night. People were pretty exhausted and it was rather late.

2009.11.06 Friday

Wrapping up the week. *major yawn*

Went to the gym and did some chest/tricep/abs/legs/deltoids. Good stuff. Results are coming through and I think I like it.

Got home and cooked up mac and cheese for dinner. Then Travis and I headed to meet Kelc and Linds at the Cedar Park vs Leander final season game. Both teams are going to the playoffs and I wish them both good luck. Cedar Park pulled through and won the game, so they will get a better seed. Number 12, Hogan, was a pretty amazing, he could break through and run far, but he never passed.

After the game, the awesome parking spot I had let us beat a lot of the traffic. I only had to drive my car down a sidewalk to get to and from that spot. Went to Sonic for some grub. Then I went over to Kelc's to watch some of Gran Turino and get some sleep.

2009.11.05 Thursday

Woke up fresh and early today to take Hasbro to the airport. He's heading off to the big apple. Sounds like crazy fun; I hope everything goes well and he gets to do all the things on his list.

What do I get to do instead of going to NYC? Go to work. Yesss. It's clear who the winner is here.

Work was mostly bland. For lunch I went out with some coworkers to celebrate Scott's birthday. It's a shame that he was let go.

Went home, mostly quiet around there. Cleaned up a little in the kitchen area, took care of maverick, and did my laundry. Dinner was pretty large, ate some broccoli, popcorn chicken, orange juice, sparkling water, popcorn, pb&j sandwich, pretzels, and a pickle. I think I still need to increase my caloric intake.

Watched some tv and played around with the computer. Seems to be a continuing trend.

2009.11.04 Wednesday

Meetings, meetings, oh and some more meetings. Must be a Wednesday.

Lunch consisted of leftover pizza and some nuts. NUTS. Nuts all up in my grill. Mixed nuts to be exact. Nuts from all over the world, all up in my grill.

I stayed at work late because my kickball game was at 18:30. Well, it should have been at 18:30. We didn't have enough players to play our very last season game, so we just played a exhibition game for fun. Chad game over from Kiss-Myanthia to increase our numbers, ended up being a pretty awesome player. Later the rest of our team showed up (minus a few that knew they couldn't make anything tonight). So the playoffs were underway, we only had 8 people and just lost (by default) our last season game. Since a normal team would have about 10 players playing on the field, we had a big handicap to overcome. We also were playing the #1 team who has been undefeated for a few seasons now... so yeah. Final score, 3-9 so not a complete domination.

Went out to Doc's afterwards. Wasn't really planning on that since I've been exhausted most of the week, but this is the last opportunity to get the drink specials, and who knows if I'll see some of these people ever again. Sad but we made the most of it.

Went home, ate some protein and carbs, showered and then was quickly comatose in bed.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

2009.11.03 Tuesday

Today should be interesting. Got a meeting set up that I don't know what will happen. Preparing for the unknown is a fun journey.

Went to the gym and ripped up some more muscles. Feels good to work out, but I'm sure I'll regret it later.

After work I made some pizza and sat around some. Went skateboarding while the pizza was cooking. Sure does get dark early now. :-(

After a while, decided to drive over to GV and make a delivery and pick up some mail. Talked with my mom and dad some, caught up on whats going on over there. Then went to Walmart and HEB for needed items. It's really hard to just jump in to healthy cooking without worrying about what you might NOT have at home to cook with.

Got home, showered, slept. My body is going to be sore tomorrow.

Monday, November 2, 2009

2009.11.02 Monday

Daylight Savings throws everything off balance. I don't like it. Why can't we have a time system that is consistent? Studies show that traffic and work-related accidents increase right around the time change. PLUS, it doesn't even make sense to do it anymore. Our lives are so dependent on electricity that having daylight makes no difference.

Today at work was kinda poopy. Lots of stuff happening with the project I'm working on.

Went home and goofed around, then went to Pluckers with JeW to watch some of MNF. The game seemed to last forever.

I lost on fantasy football, but somehow made the gap in score rather small. Maybe next year I'll get somewhere. I still think fantasy is pretty weird.

Sunday, November 1, 2009

2009.11.01 Sunday

Yawn. Turtle joined the warm bed last night. Scratched my legs a couple times.

Went to Qdoba for lunch, watched NFL most of the day. Also watched the showtime series Weeds for most of the day.

Went to Braum's for some dinner/dessert, then the long boring drive home.

Saturday, October 31, 2009

2009.10.31 Saturday

Ooogy Booogy! Halloween is here, time for some fear. Grab some of that candy, get your feet all sandy.

Yeah I don't really know where I was going with that. Went and had some Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. No, not just some random tomatoes, there's a restaurant called Sweet Tomatoes that's similar to Souper Salads or Fresh Choice, but a tad bit more fancy and boasting of freshness. Not bad if you use the coupons.

Cooked up some Hamburger Helper for dinner while watching the UT game. Then started getting dressed for the Halloween party.

The party was insane when we got there. Lots of man love going around. Funny how engineering will do that. Kelc and I showed up and left at the perfect time.

2009.10.30 Friday

Woke up reasonably late today. Went to Shipley's for breakfast, yum.

Sat around and watched TV. Then went to Schlotzsky's for lunch, also yum.

Then shopped at Walmart for some food and items that we needed. I forgot to bring my camera in case I saw somebody that I could post on www.peopleofwalmart.com

Headed out to the BrandNew/Thrice concert at Palladium Ballroom. We got there as Thrice was starting. Unfortunately, Thrice only played about 40 minutes, but it was an amazing 40 minutes.

Brand New came on and the crowd went wild. Well sorta wild. All of the newer songs of Brand New it seemed like the crowd was just staring at the band and not getting into the music. Of course all the Deja Entendu songs everybody sang along and really got into. Hint Hint Brand New, your new stuff isn't as accessible and people are just blindly following you. It also sounds like noise instead of music like it used to. I totally agree with letting an artist choose their musical direction, but when you just bank off of old, better stuff and produce crappier music now and still make money... I disagree with that.

Then went to Jack in the Crack for dinner. Semi-yum.

2009.10.29 Thursday

C to the rawfish. E to the toufee. Goooo little deli.

Mostly uneventful day at work. Went to a meeting and got an award for some of the work I've been doing. Yay me.

Drove to Arlington after work. Boring ride. Ended up with a headache. Went to Taco Bell to get some food, and got a stale volcano taco. I guess it was a dormant volcano.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

2009.10.28 Wednesday

Squeaking on through the hump day.

Prepped myself for the kickball game tonight. It's been a while since I got to play because of my flu thing. Welllll, turns out the game got rained out. I'm glad they at least told us BEFORE we had to drive all the way there. I ended up watching Mythbusters and vacuuming the downstairs, then crashed hardcore. Woke up at like 2am with my TV still on. Why was I so tired? No idea, but I like the extra sleep.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

2009.10.27 Tuesday

The cool air in the house made getting out of bed quite difficult this morning.

Work was normal. Lunch consisted of a Ziti and Meat Sauce that was quite unepic.

At home, took care of laundry and cooked up some tortellini. D-Lish.

After that, watched some TV and started composing some new music. The instrumentation on this new stuff is pretty weird, but I think it works pretty well.

Monday, October 26, 2009

2009.10.26 Monday

Didn't really feel tired this morning at all. I kept waking up sporadically, only had about 4 hours of sleep. It was also chilly and rainy this morning, bleh.

Work kinda went by fast, since I stayed busy most of the day. Lunch was leftover pizza and chicken wings from the weekend. Still tasted good too.

At home, I goofed around mostly. Organized some files on the computer, tried some Windows 7, cleaned my video card... the usual.

Watched MNF Wash vs Phi, it was pretty bad. Vick played though.

2009.10.25 Sunday

At the start of the day's games, a revelation soon hit me: I didn't update any of my Fantasy Football teams. Awesome. Looks like another week of losing for me. I still think Fantasy Football is silly. It's not like the players you have are actually playing, or even simulated playing together. It's just stats. How boring is that? Way to destroy the idea of sports and teamwork to achieve a greater goal.

Went out to Pluckers to watch the Steelers.

Then went home to say hi to the family and try to fix up a computer.

The over to Kelc's to watch Duplicity. Not one of the better movies I have seen, but it was ok. After that we all pitched in and cooked up some food, then sat down and played a game of hand 'n' foot.

Saturday, October 24, 2009

2009.10.24 Saturday

B-ball in the park? Sure why not. Oh wait, not for me. I'm either really out of shape or still recovering. Let's pretend it is the latter.

Played some Call of Duty 4 and chilled most of the afternoon/evening. Ordered some Pluckers and watched the UT football game. Ray and his brother came over to hang out while the ladies were out having their bachelorette party. We listened to some exciting new vinyls and chilled.

Lesson learned today: A day without girls feels like a vacation.

Friday, October 23, 2009

2009.10.23 Friday

Cock a doodle doo? For sure. I heard it.

Decided to go in to work for a few hours. My head doesn't work as well as it used to.

Then Jason's deli for dinner.

Tonight is the haunted house night. Mansion of Terror to be exact. It's two houses in one. First was the Asylum, then Blood Frenzy. It was Taylor, Habibi, Justin, Kelc and I. I like the adrenaline rush. Kelc, not so much.

After that we watched Scream on dvd. Such a classic, yet so silly.

Thursday, October 22, 2009

2009.10.22 Thursday

A day of recovery. Oh and Windows 7 came out. I spent most of the day trying to get all my files in line. I made quite a mess all over 3 hard drives. It's also a shame that I have such a hard time deleting anything.

Went out to Jason's Deli for some soup and sandwich.

Trying to figure out health care benefits stuff too. Bleh.

2009.10.21 Wednesday

Chigga chigga what.

Woke up today in a puddle of my own sweat. Super sexy. I took some nighttime Zicam Cold and Flu stuff, and was completely knocked out until it wore off. Oh and surprise the fever is back and stronger than ever.

Time to set up an appointment with a doctor. Let's see how easy this goes. Would universal healthcare make this process any easier? Well, I felt like I had to give my information out over the phone about 3 times before they even considered setting up an appointment; that's kind of annoying. To set up an appointment all I said was "the earliest time you have available today" which happened to be 5 hours later.

I slept a good chunk of the time up until the appointment. Turns out my fever decided to fade away. Down to 96, wtf. Did a swab thing at the doctor's, definitely the flu, most likely of the swine variety (no way of knowing these days, but 90% of the cases are).

If that's all the swine flu has to offer, then I would say it's much weaker than the regular flu. I've had the regular flu over christmas one year, and I really wanted to die. This was mostly just making me tired.

My body is flip flopping on feeling sick. Time for sleep and lazy-ing around.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

2009.10.20 Tuesday

Well, not going to work today. Fever running a muck and I feel achy all over.

For lunch I cooked up some corn, pasta, and tempties. They're messier than I originally thought, but oh so delicious.

I never imagined being 'stuck' at home to be so boring. TV gets old pretty fast.

I slept on and off most of the day. Today was pretty un-epic for me.

Monday, October 19, 2009

2009.10.19 Monday

Feel like a new kind of death today. I think I have some type of upper respiratory irritation or some cold or cough thing. Breathing feels irritated like I need to cough, but I'm suppressing that so I don't irritate it more and take longer to heal.

I think coughing that much is sorta unnatural anyways. Most animals might cough once or twice, but not 30 times an hour. Sneezing, now that is natural and something you can't always suppress.

And.. the work week begins.

After work I watched some TV while cooking some Mac+Cheese. Hasbro also gave me his leftover chicken to pick at, FREE PROTEIN. Also watched some MNF while doing laundry, taking it easy finally.

2009.10.18 Sunday

Waking up sucks. Especially after a night like last. I sat around in bed and watched tv until I stopped feeling like death.

Picked up the house a bit, then started the trek home to H-town.

Got back to Austin without incident, then began cleaning the house some. I think my room is better than before, sweet.

What a weekend.

2009.10.17 Saturday

Woke up only having slept a handful of hours. Jaime and Scott met up with Ray Matt and I to head over to Enchanted Rock. Just a couple hours each way.

Enchanted Rock was amazing. We explored, adventured, relaxed, and just had a great experience. We definitely need to come back here in the future.

After that, we went to a BBQ place I found in Llano, Cooper's Pit Bar-B-Que. Everything was fantastic, and it wasnt that expensive. The beans were free too.

Once we got home, a night of wonders and amazement began. Then in a blink of an eye, it was over. Major buzz-kill too.

2009.10.16 Friday

Slept in as much as I could today.

Cleaned up the house a bit, then tried to assist the time warner cable guy with the appointment we had set up. WHY OH WHY does TWC seem to always mess things up. The request was to get HD cable boxes (didnt bring them) and to check the signal and plug in a few wires (which took about an hour instead of 15 mintues).

Bleh.

Drove to houston and picked up Chris and Matt. A girl I haven't seen in many years was over at Matt's place, so I said hi. Then we left.

Got back to Austin and started preparing for the club. Taking Ray out to his very first (and most everybody's first) gentlemen's club.

All I can really say is that I'm still not mentally to that level where I can enjoy that atmosphere the most, and it was just alright. Ray had a blast.

2009.10.15 Thursday

C F E F

Lunch was good. The end of my work week is here. Couldn't really be more relieved. Still have a lot to prepare for. Big days coming up.

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

2009.10.14 Wednesday

HUMP dizzle.

My eyes feel almost like they are burning because they are so dry.

Went straight from work to the kickball game. Got a W by default because the team we were playing only had 4 people show up. They turned out to be a bunch of pretty cool people, we mingled and readjusted the teams for just an exhibition game; you know, for fun. This is "super social" after all. (Unlike some of the teams we play)

After that, we double-teamed Doc's for some food and drinks.

*yawnsies*

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

2009.10.13 Tuesday

No money mo' problems?

Ate some microwavable chow mein thing for lunch. Could not have been all that healthy. To compensate, I drank a protein shake afterwards. Yum.

After lunch was a baby shower for a fellow coworker. I wish the couple best of luck, and will keep them in my prayers.

After work Hasbro and I went to Fry's to pick up some fancy shmancy new wireless network adapters. Dual-band, 802.11n, 5ghz, WPA2 yadda yadda yadda...

Later, went to get my hair cut at Too Hotties. I think for the price of the cut (about $18 on skinny tuesdays, $23 regularly), you get a great deal. They wash your hair, cut it, rinse, condition, scalp massage, style, then shave your neck with a straight blade. Cheapo places will only cut (butcher) your hair, and just dust you off with a brush instead of actually getting hair clippings off your head, and at a price only a few bucks cheaper. PLUS, Too Hotties has a pool table, a ps3, xb360, satellite tv, massaging chairs, and a FREE pb&j bar to eat from while you wait.

Played some games with JeW and did some research. Should have worked on some music, but it was getting pretty late.

Monday, October 12, 2009

2009.10.12 Monday

Another early-morning start for me. To Kelc, this is torture. If the sun hasn't been up for hours, then it's too early for her.

Work was mostly uneventful. I'm sure I say that all the time. Sometimes things pick up, sometimes they don't; even when something big happens I can't talk about it all that much.

After work, Hasbro and I installed some coaxial cabling to the rooms upstairs. Mostly painless, just dirty.

And then I pretty much went to bed.

2009.10.11 Sunday

Woke up to watch some NFL games. Today centered around grilling. Sirloins, fillet mignons, hamburger patties, and kabobs fit for a king. D-lish.

We played some games for a while, then ran over to DQ for some blizzards. I haven't had one of these in many months.

Went back home with our ice cream to watch Hot Rod. Only one of the best movies of all time.

Then we headed home in the gloomy rain. The weekend is withering away.

2009.10.10 Saturday

Woke up sometime around midday. My body is so adjusted to less sleep that I tend to be the first awake alot of the time.

We watched some of the A&M game, then went to grab some food at the _____ Mexican Restaurant. After that we saw Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3-D at Cinemark. I don't think I actually sat and watched either of the movies all the way through before this, let alone back-to-back. 3 hours is way too long for anybody to sit through.

Then the day really started to pick up. Beverages and hookah. Games and food. Boys and girls. Highs and lows.

And by 5ish, we all just needed sleep.

Friday, October 9, 2009

2009.10.09 Friday

Juan is the lawnliest numb burr.

I think my brain is tired of being used so much. I don't know if I could handle extended education anymore.

Fridays that I have to work generally fly by rather quickly. I went home to take care of things, then packed up for a trip to College Station for Ray and Marisa. Kelc and I had a nice time talking in the car.

After some time at HEB, things were underway for the "weekend to end all weekends".

Thursday, October 8, 2009

2009.10.08 Thursday

Another exhausting day. I really should catch up on sleep.

And food. Seems like Ive been slacking on eating, so I should probably stuff my face more. I only had a Ravioli bowl for lunch and a corn dog for dinner. My body will thank me once that whey protein comes in.

RainX'd my car, ran some errands, measured an attic. Pretty productive day, and on very little sleep.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

2009.10.07 Wednesday

Wow. Pretty darn tired this morning.

Went to the gym to work some more muscle groups today. I'm starting to regain my ability to swell up mid workout. Looks good :-)

Lunch was a microwave healthy choice beef pot roast soup. Not quite the lunch of champions, but something with protein.

Dinner was a couple of hot dogs, and then off to play some kickball. We did an awesome job, and the team we played against was pretty awesome too. Most of the teams get really annoying or are too competitive, and that's just not the spirit of "super-social" at all. Well, luckily we can put another W down on our charts.

Went out to Doc's afterwards for some fried pickles and shuffleboard. And I'm exhausted...

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

2009.10.06 Tuesday

Dealt with a training-meeting today. So hard to keep my eyes open. These things supposedly only happen a few times a year, but they say the same things each time so why am I listening?

Stayed busy most of the day, went to the gym for lunch. Worked out back-lats-thighs-bi's. I'm trying out something new; I start off with a warm-up set or two, then keep increasing the weight while lessening the number of reps. Seems like I can push my muscles a bit harder instead of doing a ton of reps. I should probably invest in some protein powder as an extra boost.

Supposedly if you are pretty hardcore about working out, you need to keep intaking nutrients and things about every 3-4 hours. Seeing as how I cant really cook up a bunch of protein at work, I should get some powder. Whey protein just happens to have a relatively high biological value, with eggs beating it (and I'm not eating eggs, bleh). The real question now is what flavor to get.

After work some of the kickball team met up at the Flying Saucer to relax and play some free trivia for a chance to win some gift certificates. We started off strong, but then the game just got ridiculous. I guess a few of the harder questions correctly.

Played around with my computer some, then tried going to bed at a more reasonable time. I really just sat in bed for about 20 or 30 minutes before falling asleep. I bet waking up will be an entirely different story.

Monday, October 5, 2009

2009.10.05 Monday

Back to the grind. New neighbor at work today. Trying to bring this guy up to speed on what I know.

Speaking of neighbors, this one guy stopped by the house to check and see if we are all registered. Appreciate the gesture. But I can also see how people get annoyed of politics rather quickly.

Lunch was a Healthy Choice Minestrone Soup. Probably won't be getting that kind again. I think I decided that a long time ago, but forgot. The taste is just weird. For dinner: tortellini :-)

I updated a lot of the previous blog entries to include these wonderful pieces of art. Feel free to go back and re-live some of the great moments in history and enjoy some art along the way. I'll try to keep updating the art from here out, due to popular request.

2009.10.04 Sunday

Relaxed most of the day. Watched some NFL and cooked lunch.

Then napped.

Then helped Kevin with some gymnastics stuff, watched some more NFL. Cleaned up the coop.

Snails were everywhere, I tell you what.

Saturday, October 3, 2009

2009.10.03 Saturday

Company picnic time. Went out to Pedernales River park. Had some food, watched some zorbing, video games, train rides, dunking booth, volleyball, and music. Too bad the weather was poopy.

Got home and played some guitar hero, then left to grab some dinner with Kelc's mom at Applebees. Somehow Kelc always gets her way.

Had some friends over after they got done with ACL. Crazy nights.

2009.10.02 Friday

Busy day.

Washed 2 cars, cut the yard, took a shower, watched some tv shows and went to a homecoming football game with some friends.

Exhaustion set in.

Thursday, October 1, 2009

2009.10.01 Thursday

October is here, along with the exciting long weeked. Hard to believe that we are in the last 1/4th of 2009. Oh snap, I need to start shopping for Xmas! I also need to use up my Music Lessons.

Etoufee with a twist today. Introduced 3 new people to the Little Deli. Pretty exciting.

(rant)
So I'm kinda mad about something I noticed. 3 times today, I've encountered people who have the Jesus fish stuck on the back of their car, yet they all had road rage. Reach peace with your lord, and stop holding a knife to other's throats. Well that's how I like to look at it anyways; one small mistake and injury/death becomes a reality.

I'd also like to say that not all people with the fish on the bumper are crazy, I just find it somewhat ironic and you surely aren't setting a good example for others.
(/rant)

After work, went to see Blues Mafia at the Saxton Pub. Pretty awesome show. The performers were rather young, but their sound was very mature and experienced. Excellent.

Went out to a pub in Cedar Park, then headed home.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

2009.09.30 Wednesday

Big ol' hump day.

So person driving an Infinity M35 with license something like PF2-979: you are an idiot. Please stop wasting gas by poorly executing the already unsafe condition of tailgating. Not only should you back the F off people, but stop flooring the accelerator and then slamming on the brakes when you are a couple inches from the back bumper you are about to hit. I'll admit that there are a couple times where cutting things close in driving can save you a few minutes on a cross-town commute, but seriously chill out. Work is not that important. If you are late, they will not kill you. Deciding to drive like an A is putting yourself, and more importantly, innocent others in harms way.

I woke up fine today, but for some reason I just kept wanting to hit the snooze. Time to bust out some good ol' instant coffee. I totally weened myself off this stuff, and most high-fructose drinks.

Lunch today was some Yakisoba Spicy Chicken Flavored Noodles. I think it costs like $1.30, not bad. And the protein content wasn't too bad either. I'm sure the sodium levels were beyond standard detection methods.

Played some kickball after work. The game was tied up in the last inning 4-4. We were defense first so all we had to do was hold them to guarantee a tie. Well, one could say we let the ball drop on that. The final score... 4-10. :-(

Hot dogs and pb&j for dinner. Zzz.

2009.09.29 Tuesday

Now walk it out.

Lots of impromptu meetings today. Not exactly what one desires, but hey it happens.

Went to the gym for lunch, been a few days since I did that. I decided to try and push my limits a bit. I did small sets on bench, but kept increasing the weight each set. I stopped adding weight at 135lbs and still did 4 reps with it. Here I had thought that I lost ground with my weightlifting abilities, but I suppose it isn't as bad as I thought originally. Nice to be able to bench your own weight comfortably :-) I also pushed myself to do a lot more ab workouts and some leg stuff.

It's a good thing I didn't read any news articles before working out. That USC guy dropped the weights on his neck and had to have emergency surgery. Probably would have died if his neck wasnt so muscular and had spotters to help him out. Maybe I should make sure somebody is around before I push my limits.

Made some Mac and Cheese box for dinner. Costing about 60 cents for the box, and maybe another 30-40 cents for the butter+milk. Also ate some chips and pickles. I'd say that I comfortably filled up on about 2 bucks. Wish I could convince myself to cook something decent, but at least I'm eating inexpensively.

Played some foosball, then went to get some groceries so I won't have to over the weekend. Somehow I came home with more food than previous trips to the store, but spent just a tiny bit more than usual.

Watched some of The Office and It's Always Sunny, then an early bed time for me.

2009.09.28 Monday

I'm getting tired of waking up tired but going to bed feeling fine. Something has to be wrong with my ability to get quality sleep.

Work picked up today. Learned a good handful of information. I'm sure this week will get more crazy.

Lunch was a healthy choice beef pot roast soup. About two and a half dollars. I think it contained 270 calories for the whole container, and a fair amount of protein.
Dinner consisted of some green beans that I managed to mess up a little, some pepperoni pizza (feel like I've had this too much lately), and some tempties.

I met up with my family to pick up some stuff and socialize. I convinced my mom to learn how to drive a stick. Amazingly enough she didn't stall her first time going. Well done mother.

Dropped off some camping gear at Kelc's house, then was on my way home again. Feel like this week has a lot going on. Let the good times roll.

2009.09.27 Sunday

Slept in late today. Those pitch black curtains really throw off the sleep schedule.

Lunch consisted of Waffle House. This was followed by some NFL viewing, some more board/card games, cleaning, then pizza.

Korey and Josh left in the early evening to head home and get ready for more school. Kelc and I sat around and watched more tv, goofed around.

The drive home went by much faster than I thought it would. I stopped for a drink and stopped right before home to fill up with gas. Wowzers, 35.6mpg! My car is only rated to get 29mpg on the highway.

Big week ahead.

2009.09.26 Saturday

Work up a few times during the night. Air mattresses totally distribute forces all over the place. We were able to keep the fire going through the night.

We packed up and left. Only a short drive to 'home'.

Nizza Pizza was for lunch. Watched some football games and relaxed in air conditioning. For dinner we went out to PF Chang's, very fancy shmancy.

Then we played some games through the night. I hate Taboo.

2009.09.25 Friday

Ahoy, the end of yarrrrrr week is near. Buccaneer.

Lunch today: Zen Japanese Cuisine ~$8

Work, yawn.

Drove to Arlington after work. I expected we would be heading to the campsite shortly since we made awesome time, but I was wrong. We took our time, then went out to dinner, then went camping. We actually drove up to the campsite around 9:55 and the park closed at 10. Very nice.

Got our tent set up, got a good fire goin, got our s'mores roasting. Listened to the bug chirping. Somehow it felt like we were up all night, and we still went to bed at a reasonable time.
